How can I fix an indented/ slanted forehead? (Photo)

Question

I noticed my slanted/ indented forehead a few days ago and I do not know if I've always been like that or it recently happened. I am 19 years old and I would like my forehead to be even and not slanted. What can I do for it I want to avoid surgery as much as possible

You have a birth related forehead deformity due to asymmetric bone development. In order to create more symmetry you will need surgical correction. This can be very extensive, bone cutting/shaping surgery which is performed by a craniofacial plastic surgeon. However, considering that your deformity seems relatively mild, correction may be possible with a custom made implant which will be placed over the bone.You should consult a craniofacial surgeon and discuss you options. Forehead augmentation is a surgical procedure. There is no non-surgical approach to correcting a kiel-shaped forehead that needs width augmentation.

There are basically three options to treat an asymmetric forehead.  The most extensive option would require a surgery to cut and reposition the forehead bone.  Another surgical option would involve a tailor made implant or a fat transfer, which could be placed over the bone depression.  This is a less extensive procedure but it is still a surgery with the associated risks.  A third option, if the defect is not too large, would be he use of an injectable filler such as Voluma.  This procedure could be done in an office setting, would be less costly with less down time.  The down side is that the filler does resorb over time and would need to be repeated.  However, the filler may last up to two years.  Best wishes, Dr. Lepore.
