Follow-up surgeries after gastric bypass are typically performed about 6 to 18 months after surgery once the patient has lost all his/her weight and has adapted to lifestyle changes. You do not want to have the BBL too soon as continued weight loss will negatively affect the results. I would recommend clearance from the bariatric surgeon before having the BBL.
Dear Straightforward27296,generally speaking, you want to reach your goal weight before you consider a BBL, otherwise your results will be suboptimal if you continue to lose weight after the surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. You should be as close to your goal weight as possible, before surgery, for best results. In general, you need to be physically healthy and at a stable weight, have realistic expectations, be a non-smoker and your BMI needs to be 30 or less.l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and anything you need to know.Good luck :)
It seems to me like you’re missing a very important step here. That step is weight loss. After gastric bypass those who are successful need to be assessed as weight loss patients.Massive weight loss patients typically do not make for good BBL candidates.Instead patients with massive weight loss typically do much better for body lift procedures, they lift, arm lifts and breast lift procedures.Ideal candidates for the BBL procedure are typically those with modest amounts of excess fat and tight skin.Weight loss patients are typically the opposite.Best, Mats Hagstrom MD

Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. Each doctor has their own protocol. It is very important that you talk to him and follow his instructions. I suggest my patients get at least 10 sessions of lymphatic massages and to use a full body compression garment, 24/7...
Hello dear! Thanks for the pictures and provided information as well. Based on your photos, you are a great candidate for liposuction with a BBL and a tummy tuck, to give you a nice tight tummy and to get rid of the extra skin, and I think you'll get very good results. Liposuction allows your...
