I am proud to say that during the past thirty years over 90% of all nonsurgical techniques and devices have been developed and innovated by cosmetic dermatologists. However, since then dermatologists have been teaching these techniques and procedures, in the form of conferences, seminars, and hands-on workshops (and nowadays over Zoom), to other core aesthetic specialties, like plastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, and ophthalmic plastic surgery, to name just a few (as well as to general family doctors, cardiologists, general surgeons, gynecologists, dentists, etc.). So, nowadays, you have a wide choice of doctors to choose from. But, do your due diligence before deciding who is going to work on the very important asset of your face. Make sure the doctor you see is board certified and has great experience in performing the techniques (and ask to ask to see his/her personal B&As before agreeing to proceed). And think really carefully whether you want non-physicians, dentists, etc. to be performing these procedures on you in between filling cavities, delivering babies, listening to hearts, or performing hernia surgery, or breast augmentations and facelifts.
