I lost pigment in my right areola years ago and it slowly started coming back. However, it has come back in a color much darker than originally, and not completely filled in. I am pregnant so I’m not sure if that makes a difference. Why is it so darker & splotchy?

Thank you for your inquiry! A retained areola revision is the surgery you would benefit from. We would love to meet with you to discuss your concerns. Schedule a consultation with a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon to help you reach your goals.
Your nipple and Areola look 100% normal and natural. Every woman's areola contract and get bumpy. I would not recommend any treatment for this. It is normal and not the least bit unattractive!
From your photograph, it appears the areola is bigger than the hole made for the areola and that is why it is larger. The areola can simply be reduced under local anesthesia and takes about 15 minutes.
