I instruct my patients to resume normal activities following Botox injections; yoga, weight training, bicycling etc. Enjoy your swim!
Hello and thank you for your question. I would recommend asking your board certified provider for post treatment information. Vigorous exercise is typically not recommended the day of treatment. I ask my patients to resume normal exercise activity the following day. Botox is injected into a very specific area for specific outcomes, with exercise and/or excessive sweating, you may diminish or exacerbate the effects of the Botox in the targeted area. I hope this information helps and best of luck to you!
Physical activity should be limited immediately after the botox treatment simply to reduce the risk of bruising. For example, I have had patients who did not follow this advice and developed a significant bruise after doing a spin class within hours of a service. The risk of this seems much lower 24 hours after service.
I recommend following up with your Doctor about their protocol for swimming after Botox. It should be fine to swim after your treatment. Keep in mind, it will take 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear thefms,it should be safe for you to swim in the water anytime after Botox injection. If you have doubts, you can consult your injector.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MSCertified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Hello,Thank you for your question! It should be fine to swim after botox in the underarms. Typically for facial botox, it is recommended to stay upright for a few hours and to avoid vigorous exercises for the rest of the day to minimize the risk of diffusion of the product into adjacent muscles. There should not be a problem with underarm treatment.Hope this helps!
In my opinion, it would be fine to swim anytime after being treated under the arms with Botox for sweating. I do not believe the swimming would affect the results of the treatment.
Thank you for your question. For underarm hyperhidrosis or any botox treatments, after 4-6 hours you can resume light activity, but to be safe, it would be best to wait 24 hours to resume full rigorous exercise, including swimming. Consult with your injector, as they know the specifics for your case.
This is an excellent and interesting question. I am assuming you are referring to Botox in the axilla (underarm) for hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating. The length of time I recommend would depend on whether your talking about swimming in a pool, lake, ocean or river. In either case, you should wait between 24 and 48 hours following your treatment before you swim.Good luck and enjoy the summer!
Thanks for your question. Although you can resume mild activity 4-6 hours after Botox for axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis, it is best to wait 24 before commencing vigorous physical activity. Please discuss your specific case with the provider who treated you and make certain they are a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Good luck.
I'm not sure which lines are troubling you. If they are the small wrinkles that surround the lips and are often called “smoker's lines,” then Juvederm Volbella – a very thin hyaluronic-acid based filler – would probably be the best choice. If you are talking about the nasolabial folds, then a ...
Hello, thank you for your question. Botox is used to temporarily inhibit muscle action that may actually be helping hold the loose skin on your forehead up. Therefore, Botox will not address the problem of loose skin. You may be better suited for a filler that will add volume and stretch the...
Yes. There is no relationship between Botox and muscle relaxants. However, I would check with the doctor who prescribed them to you for his/her approval. Thank you for your question.
