Mini facelift/neck lift on 10/20/21 - could more have been taken off? (Photos)

I perform a lot of face lift procedures. I am not certain what a mini facelift means anymore. I think that it means a shorter recovery to the patient, but I am not certain that is always the case either. I understand what a short incision face lift is, but a mini indicates that you will get mini results if you have significant neck redundancy and heavy jowls. I think that if you had a SMAS facelift then your results are very nice. I think if you wanted less jowling than a sub SMAS or deep plane lift would be necessary. I don't disagree with your surgeon that one should love themselves. If you had a great deal of neck laxity then your result is great. I think your jowls are still a little heavy but overall you have a very nice result.

In particular, you circled an area on the mid neck on the side. This area would not be helped by a face/neck lift and you might want to temper your expectations. As far as the submental area, I can't tell if this is muscle or skin, which requires physical examination. They require different treatments depending upon what was done in surgery. You otherwise look fairly tight on the sides. It appears as if not much more tightening could be done on the sides, and with a typical SMAS lift, its difficult to get complete pulls in the midline. You could get a midline muscle tightening such as a platysmaplasty but its not without side effects which you should talk to your doctor about to see if its worthwhile.

Without posting initial; before photos to compare results very hard to advise. Revision of mini FL/NL with SMAS plication and micro Botox to neck can be offered. expect fees in $8,000+ ranges.
