Can I Use A&D Ointment Instead of Vaseline or Aquaphor After my Mole Removal?

Melanoma sometimes is obvious on examination, and other times not.  A true diagnosis can only be obtained under the microscope.  Rapidly progressing moles, however, are more suspicious.

The scar can be excised and resutured to bring it back to skin level.  This is a simple scar revision technique performed in my Los Angeles office. 

I would recommend possibly doing a shave excision, this would not involve sutures.  I recommend seeing a board certified facial plastic surgeon for an evaluation. 

Both seem to be suitable options in the short term.  I would seek the advice of your surgeon, and since they recommend the first cream, this may be a suitable option for your scar. 

Once a mole is surgically excised with positive margins, it is unlikely to return.  However, if it does return, a prompt visit to your surgeon is warranted. 

The lip mole and scar can be surgically excised with layered closure in order to optimize the scar.  I would perform this under local anesthesia in my Los Angeles plastic surgery office.
