I have been under the care of Dr. Channing Barnett for only 3/4 months now and she is the only Doctor that has cleared up my acne and has already helped my scarring after searching for answers and trying everything for years. I refer people to her that are struggling with acne because she's trustworthy and honest so that says a lot. I found her through this site so this was a really well deserved review.
I am very pleased with the care provided to me by Dr. Barnett today. I am fifty-nine years old. I had some lines on my face and I had a drawn look, near my cheeks. Dr. Barnett put a numbing agent on my face and fifteen minutes later, administered silicone injections. It's been a few hours and the results are amazing. The lines are gone and my cheeks look like they did twenty years ago. Most importantly, my face looks natural. I am very lucky to have found this doctor. She is extremely talented and dedicated. With just a few injections, it made a huge difference in my appearance. Thank you, Dr. Barnett.
I had very bad acne scars all over the face. Due to my jobs on stages, I had tried almost everything to fix the scars. I heard about Silicone injection years ago, but I chose laser treatments, after 12 courses of fraxel, which costs fortune when it just came out, which never gave me satisfying results. 2 years ago, I decided to give myself the last chance to fix,I asked about Silicone injection for acne scars to my dermatologist, she tried several scars, I liked it but she encouraged me more fraxel. I started researching. Dr. Barnett was strongly recommended. Dr. Barnett gave me two treatments 2 years ago, the result was IT. It was the one I have been searching for. I went back to him 2 years after to get one more treatment. He and all nurses were happy for the result. Of course, the scars are not 100% gone, but i am rationally saying that, the treatment works. Compared to those laser treatments out, this is way more cost effective. less invasive. The staff of Dr. Barnett doesn't sell other treatments unlike others. I cannot be happier. You can trust Dr. Barnett. Updated on 15 Jan 2015: , who is the father of Dr. Channing Barnett. They practice together. Both are equally good.
I loved what Latisse did for my lashes, but I did not love getting lots of extra little lashes on the inside owners of my eyes and around the sides of my eyes--you really need to make sure the Latisse stays on your lash line only and the best way to insure success is to go straight to sleep after applying it.
The silk peel facial is just amazing and the results are about a million times better than what one gets from a regular facial.
Lose the wrinkles/look younger
I never write reviews for anything, but given the amount of research I did on Real Self before having this procedure, and the strong negative opinions of some doctors on the subject of silicone injections and acne scars, I felt I owed it to folks who are here looking for info. About me: I am a woman in my mid-30's who had cystic acne in my late teens/early 20s that was cleared permanently by Accutane. I have had 2 rounds of full-face CO2 laser and and just about every temporary filler you could imagine, including old school collagen, Juvederm, and fat injections--the latter from the so-called pioneer of lipostructure, or whatever it's called these days. My acne scars could be characterized as moderate, mostly boxcar-type and rolling on the lower portion of my face. I'm sorry but I don't have before and afters, the thought of having my acne scars permanently memorialized on the web freaks me out. I had my first round of Silikon 1000 injections for acne scars 1 week ago. My experience has been excellent--way beyond expectations--at this point. I realize I still have a couple more treatments before I am finished, and that there can be a latent period before side effects show up. However, I am extremely pleased and will update as my treatments proceed. The procedure was virtually pain free (even without topical anesthesia, which my doctor prefers not to use) and I experienced only very mild bruising/swelling. The correction from Silikon is a thousand times better than I have experienced with any temporary filler. Even some of my scars that were extremely recalcitrant and never filled by any of these temporary fillers are now greatly reduced. My doctor used less than 1 CC of silikon total, which is about 1/5 of a teaspoon. I am disappointed that Real Self does not allow regular users to respond to doctors' comments about a particular treatment. I did a huge amount of research before undergoing this procedure, and I feel there is a lot of misinformation going on here (notice there are doctors who don't seem to delineate between the difference between generic silicone and Silikon 1000, which is a highly purified medical grade silicone). For the doctors who will surely respond to this post trashing Silikon 1000 as a filler for acne scars, can you please point me to a single documented case in the medical literature which shows a silicone embolism due to conservatively injected (less than 4cc total over the course of treatments) Silikon 1000? Can you point to a single documented case in the medical literature of conservative use of Silikon 1000 causing granulomas that are untreatable by simple steroid injections? Furthermore, I've also noticed some anti-Silikon doctors implying that doctors who use Silikon have a financial interest in doing so. I'm not sure how this works, since a series of Silikon treatments is infinitely cheaper than a lifetime of temporary fillers. Finally, I just want to say that for anyone whose life was changed for the better by Accutane, I'm sure the story around Silikon rings true. Basically, it's a treatment that works and saves scores of people from a lot of heartache, but it's controversial because a) some people have used it incorrrectly (in most cases of silicone-related side effects, we're talking about non-medical grade silicone injected by non-medical personnel); and b) there is a financial incentive for doctors to push temporary treatments over permanent ones. Please, do your homework like I did. Draw your own conclusions. If a doctor makes a claim, good or bad, ask them to back it up by citing the medical literature so you can review it yourself. If you decide to do this treatment, go to an expert. It's permanent, so if you need to travel to find that expert, save up and do it. If you're someone with acne scars that don't really bother you very much, maybe this isn't the treatment for you, because you really should do your due diligence. But for years my scars were all I saw when I looked in the mirror, and I finally feel like I've shut the door on that part of my life. Updated on 11 Oct 2010: Two week update: Loving it! Life changing! I wish I had done this years ago. Updated on 20 Oct 2010: Three week update: Not much to add. Really, really happy. Even my family, who kept saying I didn't need it, now say, "It's made such a difference!" It's the subtle kind of difference where your friends and coworkers know something is better, but they can't put their finger on it. Anyway, I am looking forward to going back to NYC in a few weeks to visit Dr. Barnett for a second round, though she did such an amazing job the first time that I honestly don't think there is that much to do (and believe me, I had plenty of scars, so it's not that I looked so great before--it's that she's kind of a miracle worker). Updated on 29 Jun 2011: Finally found time to go to New York for my second treatment with Dr. Barnett. Perfect in every way--pain was minimal, no downtime, and I'm actually getting complements on my beautiful skin. I never thought I would hear that! Can't recommend Dr. Barnett and liquid injectable silicone highly enough for anyone with acne scars. I have one more treatment to go but am so thrilled with the results to this point.
I had 3 rounds of injections last year and the doctor injected too much in several areas giving me bumps all over my face! My face looked very bumpy and all the subsequent doctors i saw said it was obvious i had silicone injected. I finally had to get the bumps surgically excised- one on my left cheek, 4 on my right cheek, and one on my forehead. Thank god all but one improved which i'll likely have to live with. Anyway i would certainly not recommend silicone because there is very little room for error and if you do have complications they will be difficult to manage.
Doctor Channing made a few mistakes by inserting 1000 micro-droplets of silicone into my cheeks without first testing to see if I had an allergic reaction before continuing. I called to see if she can see me 5 years later and she said I'm not a good fit candidate huh?probably because I didn't go back to pay the extra $200 I owed because cause I was afraid of more bad results again, I called her 5 years ago and told her that I'm very disappointed, she told me that she didn't want to see me anymore which scared me even more! I just recently called the office today feb 2023 and the administration said they can't see me because I'm not a good fit candidate,? I'm in total shock! I HAVE NO OPTION of sueing her for malpractice!! I recommend everyone to be vigilant and not have anything done by her! THE office workers were rude without caring about my serious situation!
I’m so tired of reading how in “her hands” there has never been complications of micro droplet silicone injection. Well I’m here to say as well as other reviewers I have read and couple that I have personally private messaged with that I am a victim of injected silicone injection gone wrong. In HER hands. I wish doctors would take accountability with this substance that is not fda approved to put in the face to correct depressed scars and wrinkles. Please what ever you DO NOT ever put anything permanent in your face or anywhere else in your body because you will spend years and endless amounts of money trying to remove it which is impossible or living disfigured for the rest of your life. It was put under my eyes years and years ago when Dr. Channing was still in NYC and after I had my baby is when it presented as an issue. 4 years ago and have been trying to remove it since dealing with disfigurement, persistent inflammation, and the emotional trauma that comes along with looking in the mirror everyday. Trying to find a solution. Anything to try and look like my old self again. And injections of kenalog/5fu DO NOT work. She and everyone that still uses this dangerous substance should have their medical license taken away immediately. I’m sure she sleeps well at night but to those that had this injected and didn’t know the consequence, we do not cause we have to live with this.
I have never had a patient whose lip augmentation results (even with temporary fillers) faded after just 1-2 months. If you have been injected by the same doctor and have consistently seen short-lasting results, it may be worth consulting another board-certified dermatologist or facial plastic surgeon. I would not recommend getting injections every 1-2 months as I think that is too much product too often. In our practice, we favor liquid injectable silicone for lip augmentation as it is very natural, very precise and permanent.
As far as I am concerned, Loniten is not a contraindication for Silikon 1000. Loniten should not negate the benefits of Silikon 1000. Click on the link below for more information about liquid injectable silicone.
I think you look wonderful and could definitely wait longer to get more filler injections. Right now everything looks very natural and adding more runs the risk of making you look over-filled.
It is possible that the minor skin surgery you had done on the leg contributed to the development of the leg veins. It is likely that those veins would have showed up eventually anyway. From what I can see in the picture, I think you would be a good candidate for sclerotherapy. I would wait until the excision area is completely healed.
Pictures would definitely help to understand exactly what your lip looks like at this point. If you have hypertrophic scarring, a good dermatologist should be able to inject cortisone into that area to soften and loosen it up. Once that is done, it may be easy to then fill any depressed or collapsed areas with a filler to give the lip more volume and shape again. A great filler for the lips is silicone which yields very natural-appearing results. Good luck!
