How Long Will It Take my Wound to Heal After a Mole Removal on my Lip? (photo)

I have a raised, fleshy nevi about 8 mm in diameter. A plastic surgeon that I saw said he could remove it via excision with stitches (he said stitches are under the skin and possibly one or two over the skin). I am a model and have a shoot 18 days after this procedure. I know that it will leave a small scar that will decrease over a few months to a year, but how long will it take for the wound itself to heal? Will I be able to apply makeup over that soon after or is it a scab still? Thanks!
