Hello! Thank you for your question. If you are thinking about a revision rhinoplasty, your surgeon may use the same cartilage if it is in good shape or get a new cartilage from your rib. It totally depends on your case and how the cartilage is.Best regards!Prof. Dr. Selcuk Inanli
Yes, a rib graft rhinoplasty can be revised without necessarily removing the entire graft. Revision rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to correct or improve the results of a previous rhinoplasty. The specific approach to the revision will depend on the individual case and the desired outcome. In some cases, the revision may involve reshaping or repositioning the existing rib graft rather than removing it entirely. This can be done by making additional incisions and adjusting the graft to achieve the desired aesthetic or functional outcome. The surgeon will carefully evaluate the patient's unique situation, including the condition of the existing graft, and determine the most appropriate course of action. It's important to consult with a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon or facial plastic surgeon who specializes in rhinoplasty and revision procedures. They will be able to assess your situation, discuss your concerns and goals, and provide you with personalized recommendations for the revision of your rib graft rhinoplasty.I hope this helps, best of luck !

The septum is not typically reduced to shorten the nose as this can be to aggressive. Usually a cephalic trim or suturing the medial crura up to the septum can achieve this.
Septal cartilage is the best, followed by ear, and rib. Rib tends to warp and ear has little integrity. There is also fresh frozen cadaveric rib cartilage which seems to last.
