I have a uplift and implants booked in for a months time but tday my gp said I have a small cyst I been getting pain and a burning sensation he said it’s infected an gave me 5 days of antibiotics am I still ok to go ahead with my procedure my gp said it should be fine but I would still like a surgeons advice thanks

The infection would need to be cleared before your surgery. It would be best to let your surgeon know about your situation so they can decide whether it would be safe to proceed with the cyst.

Thank you for your question. If you are planning to undergo a breast lift and implants, it is important to make sure that any infections in the breast are treated first. If your doctor has prescribed antibiotics for an infected cyst, complete the entire course of treatment and ensure that the infection is completely cleared. Breast augmentation or lift may often be performed even if you have cysts or benign tumors. However, a complete assessment, including mammograms, ultrasounds, or MRIs, may be required, along with a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. In some cases, if there are one or two separate cysts near the augmentation incision area, it may be possible to do the augmentation simultaneously with cyst removal. However, it is important to consult a board-certified surgeon to discuss your needs and evaluate both the cyst and your breast health to determine the best course of action.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. Generally speaking, it is better to postpone surgery until you are free of infection. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

This question is best answered by your surgeon who will make the final call if it is safe to continue with surgery as planned. In general you want the infection to be completely resolved before having surgery.

That cyst must be completely settled down from an infection or it could infect your implant. Your plastic surgeon will let you know when it is safe to proceed with surgery.  Five days is not long enough time to let it settle.
