I have thick skin, with a bulbous tip I believe. I want a rhinoplasty but I don't want it to look pinched as well as too animated. I want it to keep my ethnic background but also look way better and slim and a lot of difference, not ones that look totally similar with minimum change. I feel that is a waste of money. I want to know what can be achieved. Can I achieve my goal pictures?
Answer: Ethnic Rhinoplasty in an Asian Nose It is possible based upon your skin thickness from the photographs to achieve a slimmer and more slender nose while still maintaining your ethnicity. The issues come when the skin is very thick it can be difficult to get the cartilages to conform to the soft tissue or skin envelope. It appears your nasal skin is not too thick and you should be able to achieve the results you are looking for. Good luck with your rhinoplasty experience.

Answer: Consult with a specialist The best way to determine what specific changes will look good on your face, and what changes are surgically possible, is to do your research to find the top rhinoplasty specialists and consult with several of them in person. During your consultation, your photos can be computer-morphed to show how the changes to your nose will affect your appearance. A rhinoplasty specialist will have the experience to determine whether the morphed images are surgically attainable. @asianrhinoplasty

Answer: Changing nose features in rhinoplasty The most important point though is : would you actually like this shape on your facial features? Computer simulations help to work this out up to a point, but they would still leave much space for surprises. Most of the time, in a different facial shape a strong nose doesn't fit well. Her nasal tip skin is thinner and the cartilages are wider under the tip and more curved to the sides to create these contours. These are features that surgery cannot replicate accurately (at least for now). In the bridge, it is possible to increase the projection, but for a more angular contour it will require rib grafts. The reference person, when you check her side view online, has a bump on the bridge, which you would not like on yourself. If you try to take more of the essence of her features, the central part of the nose is stronger with more visibility of the edges, and the alar base is narrower. Such targets can be followed in surgery to some extent. You need to discuss this with an experienced surgeon.

Answer: Rhinoplasty expectations Thank you for question. Certainly individual results always vary and to expect your nose to look just like Nora, the woman in your goal pictures, would be unrealistic. However, in order to have a similar profile the biggest factor would be to change where your nasal bridge starts. Yours starts quite low on your nose. Nora's comes off almost between her eyebrows. In order to achieve a look somewhat similar you would need an augmentation rhinoplasty. Some material, biological or synthetic, would need to be implanted on the upper portion of the bridge of your nose in order to accomplish this. Hope this helps and good luck!

Answer: Realistic changes after rhinoplasty Can you attain the nose to which you aspire? In a single word....no. Rhinoplasty is very much the art of the possible. The South Asian nose has some anatomic restrictions, some of which could not be attained to your satisfaction. This doesn't mean that you would not benefit from having nasal surgery, but you should seek several opinions in my view so that your expectations are calibrated to what is possible. If you are not willing to accept the limitations, the you should not have the surgery.
