Can I achieve this diamond tip rhinoplasty? (photos)

Question

I am really scared i will end up with a bulbous round flat tip. I really want a diamond tip rhinoplasty what is that called and who performs it? I like the image here of the diamond tip im just scared I'll get something like the last image. Last one looks bulbous and not as defined. I dont like that look. Can I get a diamond tip with the nose I have.

Natural rhinoplasty results and thin vs. thick skin? The tip of the nose can be evaluated after feeling the nose etc. Look at the before after results of surgeons who have a great deal of experience and look for natural results more than the nose tip technique!

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose.  Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system.  You should be able to view numerous pictures of actual patients with noses similar to yours performed by your surgeon.  If you cannot find enough real before and after pictures, then consider continuing your search for a surgeon.

Thanks for your question. Comparing your personal photograph to the result photographs that you have shown,  both pictures have a more refined nasal tip than you currently have. The one you prefer, does show a more refined nasal tip. I think that the more refined tip is a realistic possibility for your post rhinoplasty appearance however, it is important to remember that individual results truly do always vary. Showing your treating plastic surgeon the pictures should improve your chances of achieving your desired results. The "diamond tip" that you are desiring is often best achieved with a cartilage tip graft. You should consult with your local Board certified plastic surgeon and/or board certified facial plastic surgeon to see whether they feel they can achieve your desired results. Hope this helps.

A thorough internal and external evaluation of the nose at the time of the in-person consultation would be required to make a determination about how best to proceed.  Thick skin in the tip of the nose prevent refinement in that area.  Adding a cartilage graft to the nasal tip to give a diamond-tip may be counterproductive  and look surgically done.  Digital computer imaging would be helpful to understand what can be accomplished with your nose  upon your facial features.
