I bumped my nose harshly on the stairs of a shallow pool when I was around 9 years old. No one in my family has a bump on their nose like me, and I was just wondering if it was genetic or an injury.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. You do have a dorsal hump, which is typically related to genetics. You might have caused some secondary deviation or irregularities as a result of the trauma, but it's hard to know for sure. Nevertheless, this can be corrected with a rhinoplasty. I would seek consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon for a full evaluation and advice. Make sure your plastic surgeon has experience performing rhinoplasty.
