The ideal safe zone may is slightly different and doctor may use their judgement when harvesting grafts especially when 3500+ grafts are needed.

Grafts are taken from a non safe zone at the middle portion of your head where as donor area is safe at the sides . If your genetic hair loss pattern would grade hair loss as 5-7 norwood , you would prbably loose some part of regrowth hair in future.

The donor zone drawn on you does look larger than it should be. Hopefully your balding doesn't progress far enough for it to matter- if that area never goes bald then it shouldn't affect the results of your transplant. I would suggest bringing up your concerns with the doctor who performed the transplant to understand why they chose the area they did.

The "Permanent Zone"  varies from individual to individual. Drs Alt and Walter Unger defined the traditionaI "Safe Zone" as you have posed with your pictures. If you are genetically heading to a class VII or a Class VI, many of your grafts appear to have been taken out of the "Safe Zone" where hair is "permanent". I usually limit my FUE cases to 2400 grafts to avoid extending out of the "Safe Zone". 

The safe zone of the donor area measures 3 inches high. From the line you drew on your head, it appears that your donor grafts were taken beyond the permanent zone.
