What's the best way to thicken that is thinning due to mpb?

I have a slight receeding hairline and have looked into all products but what can help with thinning that is now my main worry. It is across th whole front of my scalp and temples especially and slight thinning down the sides

Do not use oral minoxidil for hair loss.  It is not safe to take oral minoxidil for hair loss.  Even if it is, it does not grow hair where you want it.

Minoxildil can cause skin irritation as you describe. If may not be in your interest to continue using the medication. Please follow up with your doctor for a recheck.

As the term implies, Diffuse Alopecia Areata is Alopecia Areata that is Diffuse and more rare.  If the hair loss is total, it is called alopecia totalis.

Oily skin is not related to diffuse thinning of hair.  If you have hair loss or having oily skin/scalp issues see a doctor for an examination to find possible causes and treatment options.

If you put topical minoxidil on your head it should not grow facial hair.  In rare cases some women report peach fuzz hairs growing on their face.

Random bald spots can be Alopecia Areata (AA) if this was a multiple choice question.  You still need an exam to make sure this is not something else.  Scalp MicroPigmenation can help but doing NOTHING will likely help as well as hairs will grow back (if it is AA)
