I met with a surgeon and she said I don't have enough fat for lipo and that my skin isn't loose enough for a tummy tuck. I definitely have fat around my midsection. Is it worth checking with another surgeon?

We no longer recommend losing weight prior to lipo if you have been trying already. Lipo is the best motivator there is. Getting the lipo 1st, really helps psychologically and physically both. We are going to remove the same amount of fat cells in number whether you are huge or skinny verses...
Liposuction would be inadequate. You have hanging skin already and the skin will hang even more after liposuction. You would benefit from a circumferential body lift to give a more attractive appearance.

If fasting actually did something beneficial, and it absolutely doesn't, it might be worth considering, but never before an operation when your body needs to be in top nutritional shape. As you might imagine, I don't recommend it ever, but if you want to, it shouldn't happen for at least three...
