can anyone advise who is a specialist or has experience in correcting the crater deformity after a gyno surgery ? mine has ruined the chest contour on one side. I also think there is some skin stuck to the muscle because when I lift my arm it sinks in far on one side
Answer: Crater deformity Crater deformities occur when there has been over correction in the center of the breast. Also the surrounding tissue is usually under corrected. Sometimes the skin can stick down to the muscle causing a retraction deformity. Correction of these must be individualized depending on what was done. A combination of further liposuction, fat grafting and / or fat flaps can be used. Take your time before proceeding and good luck.

Answer: Gynecomastia Crater Deformity 40% of my practice is revision surgery from surgeons who have removed too much gland or not enough. I have been doing gynecomastia surgery since 1989, and yes, crater deformity can be corrected with fat transfers or a fat flap. I much prefer a flap, if possible, it works much better and more predictable. I offer complimentary consultations via phone or Skype. Good luck.

Answer: Revision gynecomastia surgery Excision of too much tissue to treat gynecomastia may result in a greater deformity on the chest. This sunken appearance does not appear natural and can be just as distressful as having excessive breast tissue. In order to correct this deformity fat transfer from another location can be used to fill in this defect. A board certified plastic surgeon experienced in both gynecomastia and fat grafting should be able to help you.

Answer: Fat grafting after gynecomastia repair One of the most common risks of gynecomastia repair surgery is a need for revision due to a contour deformity, either from too much or too little reesection of tissue. Over-resection can oftentimes be corrected with scar release and fat grafting, whereas under-resection may require a repeat of the original operation. In order to get a qualified, ethical, and expert opinion on your surgical options and expectations, always have an in-person consultation with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Best of luck,Keith M. Blechman, MDNew York, NY
