I had Sientra 505cc HP textured gummy bear implants placed 02/2022. They are still sitting very high and the bottom portion of my breasts feel empty. Is it likely that I will need a revision?
Answer: Lift needed Pre-operatively, your breasts were hanging and you needed a lift. Unfortunately, your surgeon did not perform a lift but just placed the implants. Your implants are at one level and your breast tissue is at another level. You will need a lift and the pockets redone. If your implants are retro-pectoral then the technique I recommend is a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, the implants can be placed submuscular. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Implants Yes, because textured implants do not drop or move from where they were placed. I prefer the smooth round implants for fewer risks.

Answer: Textured breast implants won't drop Texturing on the surface of breast implants is intended to promote formation of a scar capsule that adheres to the implant and prevent rotation. This also means they aren't expected to drop.

Answer: Revision surgery Dear mr7276, breast revision surgery is the most difficult plastic surgery procedure performed. Botched breast surgery alters normal tissue planes and laxity, the ability of breasts to heal properly, and leaves scar tissue that dramatically affects the level of difficulty of the corrective surgery. Many patients come in to correct poor outcomes from their initial surgeries. The most common problems are due to implant malposition, bottoming out of the implant, poor scarring, and incorrect implant size. While the type of revision required will depend on the result of the previous surgery and the desired result of the patient, some revisions involve extensive pocket repair that may or may not need specialized external bras.If you are considering breast surgery revision, you should speak with a board certified plastic surgeon and have yourself properly assessed. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Also, you have to make sure that your surgeon understands your breast augmentation goals.
