I am so confused' my surgery is in 1 week. I am about 5'8' and 122 pounds. had my mind set that I wanted to be a full C; doc put a 375 in my sports bra and was happy with that THAN he said i can handle a 425, "it will look good on you". He was pretty firm on 425. I don't want to be in the D range, I want to keep it in the C range. I don't want "Stripper boobs"...I want a very natural nice size set of boobs. I want pretty cleavage when i wear a bathing suit/dress but not so much that there isnt even space between my 2 boobs.
Answer: Breast Implant Sizing This question of sizing is always one of my patients' top concerns. And deservedly so. Having said that, I agree that 350-370 cc is not a big difference. I size our patients with 3D imaging as well as the use of sizers (directly on the chest, not in a bra). Re-visit this issue with your surgeon and best of luck with your choice!

Answer: Should I get 350 or 370cc gummy bear implants? Thank you for the question. There is no accurate correlation between size of breast implant and cup size achieved. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is: 1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you're looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work. 2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” or "stripper boobs" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. The use of computer imaging technology may also be very helpful during this communication process. 3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery. I hope this (and the attached link) help.

Answer: Implant Size My thought is that you need to return to your surgeons office and re size the different options. In the end, it doesn't matter what your doc thinks look good on you, it only matters that you like your look. And, a 425cc implant on a 5'8" 122lb woman will be a lot of breast. You need to re size and make your own choice. If you surgeon disagrees get a second opinion.

Answer: Confusion About Breast Implant Size The decision in breast implant size between 350cc and 370cc is really irrelevant. There is no appreciable difference in these implant sizes. There is a difference, however, between 350/370cc and 425cc implants. Given these concerns, you need to revisit a sizing appointment and feel comfortable walking into surgery with the chose breast implant size. You need to get an implant size that you want, not something that looks good to anyone else.

Answer: How to choose an implant size First, find a board certified plastic surgeon with many years of experience, particularly in breast augmentation. Have a frank discussion with the surgeon as to the desired size of your new breasts. You should also mention whether you are physically very active. There are pros and cons for all kinds of implants: saline, silicone gel or "gummy bear" -- you should discuss this as well. The gummy bear implant is great -- but more expensive and it may not be right for everyone.I have found that taking measurements of your body, your breasts, your skin elasticity, etc, all will affect your choice of implant size and shape. And remember, it is not just volume -- some smaller diameter implants can provide more projection. As you can see, it gets complicated. That is why choosing an implant by merely stuffing a sample implant in your bra is not the way to go.Good luck!Elliot W. Jacobs, MD, FACSNew York City
