Hydrocortisone to thin thick bulbous nose tip?

Hi -- I hate my wide, bulbous nose, but understand that due to my thick nose skin that I may not be a good candidate for rhinoplasty, and wouldn't be able to achieve the results that I want. I recalled that a dermatologist once told me to use hydrocortisone cream for my cystic acne, but to use it sparingly because it can cause the skin to thin. Could I apply the hydrocortisone to my nose tip to thin the skin and tone down the bulbousness? What's the worst that could happen? Thanks!

Even with thick skin there is usually some dirty vehicle improvement to be had. If you’re interested further submit photos or go on some consults.

The shape and size of the tip of your nose is most likely caused by the shape and size of the underlying tip cartilages. Application of a topical steroid would not affect those structures nor cause meaningful change to the thickness of your nasal tip skin. Injection of steroids could lead to discoloration and loss of normal texture of the skin.

Thank you for the question and I would go on some consultations with experts that use digital photography to show you what can be accomplished with your nose and how it might be done and then look at photos of similar patients and become fully informed about the desired procedure. That said cortisone will not thin your tip!
