26 yr old with moderate acne, wanted a Hydrafacial, but does it cause dry flaky skin?

There is potential that after a HydraFacial you will leave the appointment with some redness due to the suction of the machine but this shouldn't last longer then a few hours. HydraFacial is good for hydrating the skin by removing dead skin buildup and allowing antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid to absorb into the skin. During the facial glysal is used which is a light chemical exfoliation including glycolic acid and salicylic acid as long as you discontinue use of acids or exfoliators prior to your facial you should not experience dry skin. I would recommend when going for a spray tan to avoid spraying your face so you don't clog your pores with tanning solution which could case you to break out especially if you are prone to acne

Is it possible for you to avoid the spray tan? I would probably skip that if possible. The whole point of a hydra facial versus a biore strip you can just buy over the counter is that you are infusing the extracted pores with products that will help in repair of the skin and pores permanently. I fear that doing a spray tan so close to your treatment will be counterproductive.

Talk to the aesthetitian  prior to your procedure and let her know your concerns, the products used are adjusted for different types of skin. I have not seen these issues in my practice, but consider having the hydrafacial before the spray tan; you should be fine.

Hydrafacial provides extractions and infusion of products geared toward your personal needs.  Hylauronic acid can be used with acne and this provides moisture not drying.
This is a great procedure to have prior to an event but you have to consider everyone's skin is different. 

Hi! Now, I can't promise you won't get a little bit of peeling but for the most part it should be pretty mild/minimal. I have had a small pimple or 2 come out with the treatment but typically they are gone within a day or 2. Any redness from the treatment should be gone within an hour or so after the treatment as usually it is just from the suction.

I think this is a great treatment a day or 2 before an event or going out of town!
