Is 2 litres enough fat to have been removed during Smart Lipo?

Question

3 weeks ago I had smart lipo on my inner and outer thighs, hips and my abdomen. I had a TT 6 months earlier but still had a little pouch. Due to a scheduling error, the procedure started 2 hours late. I think my PS was in a rush and did not spend as much time as he should have. My measurements have not changed at all although it's early. Does that seem like enough fat has been removed?

Thanks for your question!  There is no right or wrong answer to this.  It truly depends on how much fat you had to be removed.  Also, keep in mind that SmartLipo was intended for more concentrated areas of fullness, so my guess is that 2L is quite a bit on your frame.  As you said, it is still very early, and I'm sure you have a lot of swelling.  Be patient and if you are still dissatisfied in 3 months post-op, speak with your surgeon then.  Good luck!

Thank you for posting your question. 2L is a good amount of fat to remove, especially through Smart lipo. Even though 2L may not be a big number for you, smart lipo is not a procedure designed for weight loss and the removal of excess fat from multiple areas of your body will significantly improve your body contour. Your measurements and overall weight may not have changed as much because of swelling, which is expected and normal at this stage of your recovery. Please be patient and give your body the rest it needs. Best of luck.

Hi There It would be good to see before and after pictures but basically 2L is a huge amount of fat to remove so you must see a result.To be very honest with you the most effective method of lipo in the world is Bodytite and I don't know why the usa is still 10 years behind the uk and still using smartlipo.Kind Regards Dr Dinesh Maini Zenith Cosmetic Clinics

it is much more important not to focus on how much fat and fluid was removed but rather realize that it takes 6 months to get your final result. you need to be much more patient. also realize that it is a partnership between you and the surgeon. you can influence the final result by decreasing your overall body fat by eating a better diet and increasing your exercising. david berman md
