Question

I did fat grasp on my upper eyeslid 6 weeks ago. I feel like my eyelids is blocking my eyes to open naturally/completely. I also notice that my lids have double lines. I am very worried that this will stay permanently. Will it recover?

Was fat grafting the only procedure that was performed on your eyelids? Or did you undergo upper blepharoplasty as well?  Swelling and heaviness on your eyelids early post-operatively after fat grafting is common, but these symptoms should have improved substantially by 6 weeks.  Typically, the double/triple folds you see after fat grafting should subside after the swelling goes down.  However, if you are concerned that you are healing slower than normal, you should follow up with your surgeon as soon as possible.  Best wishes!Goretti H. Thank you for your question. Facial swelling after fat transfer can take up to weeks to months to resolve. It also depends on how much fat injection your surgeon performed. I recommend you call or see you surgeon as soon as possible to further discuss your concerns, especially if the swelling is impairing your ability to see or open your eyes. They may be able to offer additional treatment options to help decrease the swelling sooner.
