I am having a tummy tuck and a breast lift with implants. I will have 11 week to recover before a Disney trip we have planned. Is that enough recovery time? Or should I hold off on surgery? Thanks.
Answer: Vacation Assuming all goes well with your surgery (ie no complications) you should be fine to go to Disney world. There may be some rides that would be uncomfortable (is Space Mountain) but you can always skip the jerky rides. If you are at all concerned and this is a big family vacation, the safest thing to do would be to postpone surgery until your return. Have a great trip.

Answer: Disney world after a tummy tuck As long as your board certified surgeon clears you and assuming everything goes well then you will be fine. It's important to follow the post operative instructions the surgeon gives you.

Answer: Is 11 weeks post tummy tuck too soon to go to Disney world? Thank you for your question. There is a process of swelling and bruising that peaks at 3 days after surgery and then undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. Usually, patients can return to light activities almost immediately after surgery, normal activities 2 weeks after surgery, and exercise 4 weeks after surgery. We usually experience a slow steady improvement for 3 months or so after surgery. If everything goes as planned for your recovery, at 11 weeks you should be ok to go on your trip, although is always best to check with your specific surgeon to make sure youre good to go.

Answer: Mommy makeover recovery As long as you have a normal recovery with no major complications, eleven weeks should be adequate recovery time to enjoy a trip to Disney. You may want to bring your compression garment along in case all the time walking around increases your swelling temporarily. It is best to clear the trip with your surgeon as well since he/she is most familiar with your surgical plan.

Answer: Disney World? If you heal uneventfully which means no complications, 11 weeks is enough. That's basically 3 months and I expect my patients to be normal by then without restrictions. However, your surgeon may have different guidelines and it's important to ask them. Good luck with surgery and have fun at Disney World.Dr. Smart
