The results are so beautiful, and the whole experience went way beyond what I was expecting. I’m 7 weeks post, and most of the swelling is gone and couldn’t be happier with the scar (already flat, thin and straight. I consulted with Dr Z because he does a drainless TT (he said he hasn’t used drains in 10 years). I can’t imagine going recovery drains! My recovery has honestly been a dream. The day of the procedure went very smoothly. I felt good enough to cook dinner with my family when I got home. The second night was the only bad experience. I had a sore throat, acid reflux, and this weird feeling when I swallowed, like something was stuck in my throat. But I drank about gallon of water and sucked on TUMS and it went away. I didn’t really have any TT pain, By no means bedridden. The first week I had some discomfort sitting up/ lying down, sort of like my C-section. I was also little hunched over, but I was able to do most of my normal activities. even driving. I just couldn’t lift anything. not even my purse/shoulder bag. By end of week 1, I felt good enough to start walking 1-2 hours a day. End of week 2, I got stitches out, I felt almost like I could do anything. I went to the gym and used the stairmaster —which is just an awesome workout— and did walking with short bursts of jogging. By end of week 4, I was back to easy running. The recovery has been relatively smooth. I definitely wasn’t sidelined like I thought I would be. I just could not have asked for better results or smoother recovery than I had with Dr Zubowicz and Emory Aesthetic Center. Updated on 5 Nov 2017: Here's a before pic. Updated on 5 Nov 2017: Omg!! My TT has made such an improvement. Previous nonsurgical procedures I tried did not even come close. I so wish I had talked to Dr Zubowicz before I wasted $$ on those other things — coolsculpting and Thermitight.
I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Miotto! I had been contemplating non surgical lip augmentation for several years, but never had the courage to actually go through with it. I finally decided to have it done and a friend recommended me to the Emory Aesthetic Center. I was given a consultation with Dr. Miotto and she helped me decide what the best options were for me and I decided on Juvederm Ultra XC, and she was able to perform the procedure that day! I only needed filler in my top lip, so she recommended that we fill only using half of the syringe on this first visit, that way we would avoid over filling due to the possibility of limited visibility from the swelling. Doing it this way let us see where exactly I wanted more filler after the slight swelling went and made it easier for her to see where she needed to place the remaining fillers on the second visit. I hardly had any swelling or bruising! So after my two visits, my lips are everything that I wanted them to be and more. I just loved how she took her time deciding what would be the best procedure for me and didn't rush the process by putting the full syringe in on the first visit. I will absolutely be returning to her soon for my future procedures!
Today I am in 4 day post op. I am moving ok but get short of breath. I've only been walking around my bedroom and feel exhausted. is this normal? Could it be the Percocet? I am down to a muscle relaxer and 800 Ibuprofen to help. My Torso feels numb and heavy. I cant wait to have the drains removed because I am terrified of pulling them accidentally. Updated on 1 Aug 2016: I will try and post pictures tonight. I have my ups and downs. My stomach is still numb, mid center. In the evenings or when I feel like being "normal" I cook and clean it swells and gets tight. I had a small amount of fluid and my PS said it will be absorbed by my body, no worries unless it either started oozing out of my drain opening and/or I began to have fever and chills. Can't wait to not be sore and have my stomach swell. thank you, ladies, for the encouragement. My PS is Dr. A Losken at Emory Aesthetics.? Updated on 1 Sep 2016: Still swollen. Worse at night, feels tight and tender to touch
3 months since my survey I've came a long way. Working out 2-3 times a week and eating healthier has help a lot! My Dr. Still says I have swelling and some loose skin he hopes that the skin will continue to tighten and I don't have to have another surgery to get it removed ????
I elected to use the Emory School of Plastic Surgery at Grady Hospital. because it's a well-established and affordable program. I had a Tummy Tuck w/ lipo on the flanks; total cost for surgery $3,871.00. I just had my surgery, so I'm very swollen and in a lot of pain....I will upload some pictures by tomorrow. Updated on 23 Sep 2013: I believe I have been to hell and back.....I have given birth to 2 children and had a breast reduction, but nothing compared to the pain I felt once I woke up after surgery. I have read the blogs, talked to friends who have had the surgery and watched the videos, and everyone except 1 person said that it was worth it. Now, I don't know how I will feel in 2 weeks, but right now......this was the worst decision I ever made. I'm in pain, my head is constantly spinning, I can't eat because it burns every time I try real food (from the tube down my esophagus), I have vomited, I'm hot, then I'm cold, I'm bruised, I can't walk w/out assistance, I'm just really miserable right now. BUT........I'm praying that this too shall pass. I have to get my before shots from my doctor tomorrow, but here is a shot from this morning, and I will also upload my YouTube video documentary, if allowed. Updated on 23 Sep 2013: Pre OP Appt and Info Updated on 23 Sep 2013: I look a Hott Mess.....lol. Nervous and Anxious all at once, and I had reason to be! :-/ Updated on 25 Sep 2013: Recovery-The things needed before, during and after the TT surgery. Updated on 29 Sep 2013: Good morning everyone. My apologies for the last video, I'm not sure why it didn't upload, but feel free to copy/paste the link in your browser to watch. I have been through a variety of things this week with my body, which led me to believe that this may not have been the best decision for me (surgery). I am so, so, so very swollen! My skin is so swollen & tight that when I eat, it makes it worse and I am miserable until it loosens some. Yesterday we went to a compression garment store to purchase my next stage garment. I understand that each doctor has they're own theory on wearing these, but I prefer to wear it. My doctor told me that it was not necessary to continue to wear my binder. :-/ I found that to be quite odd since it's the only thing that makes me feel like I'm not totally falling to pieces. lol.....Anyway, my 2nd post-op apt is in 2 days and I will bring my garment and a list of questions along with it, and they will remove my drains at that time. Yay!!! I have already started using Advanced Mederma for my stitches, and because I itch so bad, I have been massaging Palmers Vitamin E into my scar, as well. Any Suggestions for the itching, scar removal, garments or anything??? I accept them all, and thank you kindly in advance. I am still walking bent over, and cannot walk for long distances, so we have used wheelchairs the 3 times I have been outside. The weather is beautiful here, it's a shame I have not been able to enjoy it. My mother was here for the week to help care for me and that was a God-send.....she left yesterday. :-( And my fiancé works M-F, so I will be on my own, except for the few friends that I have dropping by. I have been sad a couple of times, but I have not hit the depression stage and hope I never do! I am actually planning my wedding (10/14), so I do have some (happy) things to occupy my time. My fiancé has no problem doing what I ask, but I'm like, why do I have to ask??? So, I will be happy when I am no longer dependent upon anyone for my basic needs. I'm praying that I do not wind up w/ dog ears.....I do not want to go through anymore surgeries in the foreseeable future. I cannot wait until the swelling goes completely away, and I can workout regularly again. My wedding dress should arrive around January, so I want my body to be ready for my first fitting, or at least a little closer to my goal size. :-) I guess I'll go back to bed now......nite, or morning, rather. Updated on 29 Sep 2013: Updated on 29 Sep 2013: For the most part, I feel much better with my CG on.....I have fairly large breasts, so when I lay back in my recliner, I feel like I'm being suffocated. That's the only real problem I have with this suit. Other then that, I feel more secure in this. Updated on 2 Oct 2013: If the video does post, please copy and paste the link. This video gives specific info and contact info for the PS program I used in Atlanta. Updated on 3 Oct 2013: Today was a really good day... Hardly any pain. I still walk bent, but only slightly..... we spent the day touring our wedding venue, having lunch, and I stopped at the office briefly...... okay maybe for a couple of hours to get some stuff done. :-) My fiance works for the government so he's been off, (of course you know that's because of what is going on in Washington)....... :-( But it's been nice having him home to help me..... everything happens for a reason, I truly believe that. This will be my second night sleeping in my own bed... Yay!!! its still uncomfortable, but it's a little bit better than sleeping in the recliner at this point. I will probably make an update video this weekend until then, until then..... believe in yourself, or no one else will! Thank you! Updated on 4 Oct 2013: I am still very swollen, but making progress. Updated on 8 Oct 2013: I'm moving around a lot more.... I'm back to eating regular foods, overall I'm just feeling a lot better. I had to go buy another binder, medium (Yay)..... and that has made a world of difference in my recovery. My binder fits a lot better......making me feel much more secure, and more comfortable. It has been a mixed-blessing to have my fiance' off from work w/ this government shutdown.....I needed him, but now with both of us off, it's time they end this ridiculous stand-off and he gets back to work. my stitches are healing well, I'm still very swollen... But I'm getting better daily. I had some setbacks with my allergies, so I had to start a new medication... But I'm off everything today. I'm happy to be healing, and just happy to be alive. Updated on 12 Oct 2013: Good morning everyone. I'm feeling a lot better today. Yesterday was a hard day, because I was subpoenaed to court to testify for one of my clients..... so I was in court allllllll day. It was definitely very uncomfortable to sit on those hard wooden benches, without food, water, pain meds and then provide testimony. smh...... anyway, I'm better now. And my client's won! :-) (Not sure if I mentioned this, but I'm also a Realtor/Property Manager in Atlanta.) I woke up feeling confident and less swollen......I think I'll wear a short sundress today. My 3rd Post Op appt is in 3 days..... and I'm excited for my doctor to see my results. I'm still very swollen, but making loads of progress. It appears as though I can stand completely straight up, but I am still slightly bent. My stool and bowel movements are normal and I'm only taking extra strength tylenol as needed which is not often. In this phase, it just feels like my abs have done a thousand sit ups...... my stitches are healing nicely. I stop using the silicon strips, to give my stitches a chance to heal better. I just use vitamin E oil & Bio oil..... I massage it in really, really good....wait a few minutes and then I put cloth tape over my stitches. It has helped to flatten my stitches, and make them smooth. My doctor recommended that. That's it for now, happy healing ladies! I must say I experience the best service ever from the 1st consult appointment all the way to all of my post op appointments. Dr. Losken is a wonderful physician and has a great staff working with him. During my consult visit he answered all of my many questions and concerns. I have 2 kids my oldest is 16 yrs old I have not shown my stomach in 16 years and then with age I of course pick up some additional stomach weight, love handles and back fat. But Dr. Losken assured me that he could take care of all that and contour my hips to match my new waist line. I was excited and happy with the thoughts of finally being able to wear a two piece again…lol. And even when he was done and had left the room and I thought of many more questions his nurses were able to put my mind at ease. His surgery scheduler Mrs. Cathy got my surgery scheduled for me very quickly and in 2 weeks I had the new body that Dr. Losken said I would have. I got a tummy tuck, breast lift and liposuction to my hips and thighs. I want to say thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Emory Aesthetic Center @ Paces for helping me through my recovery process. This office has a wonderful Doctor, nurses, anesthesia team, O R team and office staff. Updated on 12 Sep 2013: Updated on 12 Sep 2013: Updated on 12 Sep 2013: Ok so I am 5 weeks out from my surgery I am overall for the most part satisfied. I question a lot about my sides. I did have liposuction to my flanks and hips but the buldging on my sides is not sexy at all. I was told that I am still swollen. I am ok with my breast but think that if I do go back for any revision on my body that I might go ahead and do some implants. As for my thighs Im not sure about them only because again I don't know how much is still swollen I had these really huge knots up until last week when I was told to massage the areas that the lipo was done. So the knots have gone down some. Anyways I don't see my doctor again until Oct. so I will keep you posted. If anyone knows about the swellen please let me know if this is normal for my thighs. Updated on 12 Sep 2013: Updated on 29 Oct 2013: So I have not been very good with updating my status I have my before pics from the doctor office now and I will post them shortly along with some other photos. But anyways so I am very happy with my TT. My only problem is that in the beginning of my descision making about surgery I was torn between getting just a breast lift or getting a breast lift and implants. Well after surgery I felt like my boobs were made smaller and I was not really happy with them ( I love my breast). So after 3 months I have decided to go ahead and get the implants. I have to get some more liposuction to my love handles so I decided to get my breast done too. YEAHHHYYY!!! so I saw Dr. Losken last friday and I am scheduled for surgery on November 15, this will be the last one for me. I am so happy Updated on 30 Oct 2013: Updated on 13 Nov 2013: So Friday is the big day. I'm getting my additional lipo to my flanks and bra fat. I will also be getting my breast implants done too. I'm going to try to take sum photos on Friday before and after surgery and maybe a video I'll try just for you guys. But I'm very excited about my new boobs can't wait!!! Updated on 3 Jan 2014: I am so happy that I choose to get my implants. I am very happy with all of results. Dr. Losken has done a GREAT job. I have been bad with posting pics. But here are a few Updated on 3 Jan 2014:
Youtube video channel: atldymeztamikaa (yes with two a's) Soooo, hey everyone! I am 5'1 and 225lbs... this height and weight, my BMI is 41. I have high cholesterol, but not many medical problems. I do have alot of physical problems though! My knees hurt, my back, I get tired SUPER easily and when I walk (on flats) my feet even start to hurt! Sex has become more of a hassle (can you imagine?) and dancing? Dancing makes me feel like I am running a 5k. This is ridiculous! I will be turning 29 on August 26th and do NOT want to go into my 30's looking like a baby whale. Although I do feel sexy at times, I have the HARDEST time finding clothes to fit me. NOT because I am big, there are plenty big girl clothes, but because I am BIG and PETITE! The nerve of me right. Sooo, after months of trying to get surgery with Peachtree Bariatrics in Atlanta (tragic fail, do NOT go there) I have found a great team at Emory Bariatrics working with Ms. Tracy Greene. Right now my surgery is scheduled and the insurance company has already approved it (I'm with United Healthcare) and I am excited that I have to pay 10% only, insurance covers 90%. Updated on 22 Sep 2012: Hey ya'll I dont know if you have been watching my channel on youtube, but I am down 23lbs and I am about 7 weeks out. Im eating WAAAY less but I am on my way to good health :) Thanks for your positive words!
I am a 35 year old mother of 5 beautiful children. I have always had hips and butt, after having my first child my stomach never went back to its pre pregnancy shape. after researching and speaking with my husband, who is very supportive about it, I decided to go for it. I am done having children so its time for mommy to do something for myself. I have my consult this coming Tuesday with the Emory University plastic surgery program offered at Grady Memorial hospital. I will be uploading pics in a few. Updated on 17 Jan 2015: I will be going for my tummy tuck and Lipo consult. I have attached a few before pics. I really hate my back the most. I know I will be losing some of my tattoos on my stomach but those can be replaced. My happiness outweighs any obstacles that I could face. The attention [RS bleep] at the bottom of the screen is my miniature schnauzer ashton blue Updated on 17 Jan 2015: Updated on 20 Jan 2015: I went for my consult today at Grady memorial hospital in Atlanta. I spoke with the resident and the doctor who will be performing my surgery. They took pictures as well. My surgery date is February 19th. The advised me that my surgery will be outpatient. I will have drains in for the first week or two. I will also be getting lipo of the flanks and back, my price includes those services as well. I am so ready for my day to come. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I'm too excited to think of all that occurred but as I do I will post.
