The SMAS elevation supports the facelift so that their is minimal tension on the skin and enhance the possible longevity of the face and necklift. Along with the face and necklift she also had fat transfer to the face. Fat was transferred tough out the face and temples to restore the volume she has lost over time as we age. She stated that she never had a strong profile even in her younger years, and wished for more definition and a decrease in the overall heaviness of her face. Examination revealed significant laxity of her jawline and neck tissue, along with a moderately undersized chin.We decided together to perform a lower facelift and neckift, along with adding a silicone chin implant to increase her profile definition.The entire procedure was performed under local anesthesia (no IV or general anesthesia) with oral sedation with xanax.
