This patient complained of a weak chin. The cosmetic deformity is better appreciated on quarter and side views.
The deformity was due to a combination of anatomic factors. The patient had good occlusion (teeth fit together well), but the chin was under developed. She had a moderate fat pad causing poor definition between the neck and jay. Skin tone was good. The patient had a trachea that was positioned in an anterior position, which further obscured the neck definition (nothing could be done about this). A Medpor extended implant was used to correct the appearance of the underdeveloped chin, and approximately 250 cc’s were removed using liposuction. Patient is seen 2 months postop.
