We checked in with this patient at her 6 month Post-Op appointment -- here's how she's doing now at 1 year.Revision Rhinoplasty is a surgery is used to repair undesirable effects from a previous nose job, most often with another physician. Not all plastic surgery procedures provide the results you desire, whether because the surgeon is inexperienced or unforeseen complications may arise. Revision rhinoplasty works to correct these undesired effects as much as possible, sometimes by grafting ear or rib cartilage if there isnt enough septal cartilage present to support the nasal structure. Revision rhinoplasty can be very complex  depending on the amount of scar tissue present and the preservation of the original nasal structure  and can last up to five hours. The risk of needing revision rhinoplasty is significantly reduced by seeing a board-certified facial plastic surgeon in the first place, so it is vital that you do your due diligence when choosing your surgeon.

Our patient suffered from nasal collapse and deformities of her nasal tip after a botched rhinoplasty. We did a major revision rhinoplasty to restore her breathing and bring her nose closer to her original nose. Swipe to see a cast she had of her original nose.

This lady with a prior rhinoplasty has an over-resected nose with a hanging columella and distorted tip morphology. Revision rhinoplasty is carried out to restore a more natural appearance. Tongue in groove technique corrects the hanging columella.

We performed revision rhinoplasty to produce a more desirable shape, and this also significantly improved her nasal breathing. She felt that the external portion nostril was too big and the bottom edge of this tissue was too flat relative to the other side. If you look at the post-operative photos, youll notice that the curved contour of the bottom edge of the nostril on the right more closely matches the untreated left side.

She has undergone 3 nasal surgeries and the un-natural appearance of the nasal tip deformity is evident.Open revision tip surgery restores proper tip projection and nostril shape and proportion.
