68 year old female shown before and three weeks after an upper eyelid blepharoplasty. The patient had excess skin covering the eyelid and her vision was impaired. The procedure was done at the surgical center and took one hour. The patient went home the same day. Complete healing can be completed in 6 weeks. The excess skin was removed from the upper eyelids. This patient received a right and left lower blepharoplasty.

This working woman in her late 50s presented with the concern of looking tired and angry all of the time. She stated that she did not like the heaviness over her eyes and that her lower face and neck were quite saggy.Examination revealed significantly hooded eyes that even effected her peripheral vision, as well as significant laxity of her lower facial tissue and neck. We decided on performing an lower facelift with necklift and an upper blepharoplasty.Both procedures were performed under local anesthesia with the addition of oral sedation with alprazolam (xanax). Total procedure time was 2 1/2 hours. The majority of the stitches were removed on post-op day 6 and she returned to work on day 10.Her results demonstrate significant opening of both eyes as well as considerable decrease in the overall heaviness of her lower face and neck.
