This patient had had a facelift with Dr. Anton 15 years prior, she was happy with her results for many years but eventually gravity made her neck and eyes start to sag again. For this procedure she had a secondary full facelift at the SMAS (sub-muscular aponeurotic system) layer. This deeper layer is made of more inelastic, fibrous tissue that can hold the tension when elevated and repositioned. This layer is key to a natural appearing facelift as the overlying skin was then re-draped with minimal tension, giving her the most natural results that last the longest. He used her original incisions that were in the hairline and the inside crease of her ear and behind her earlobe. She also had a secondary upper and lower blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) to remove the excess skin around her eyes. These photos were taken 9 months after her surgery, her incisions were well hidden again.
