Labiaplasty - Wedge Technique

I perform the Wedge Resection Labiaplasty: The Labia Minora is enlarged to variable degrees because of many reasons ( Trauma, Sex, Aging, Vaginal Delivery, Congenital ). It can be unsightly with dark edges, asymmetric, and bothersome with pain and chafing in tight clothing. Many women may not feel comfortable when having sex. The extra tissue is cut off such as in the diagram above and discarded. The edges are reattached with absorbable sutures which will dissolve by six weeks. I recommend no sports, no sex, no tampons for six weeks. The patient can resume all normal activities after six weeks. There is hardly a visible scar since it is all mucosa.
