I first have my mucocele removal on 6 September 2020, had another surgery on 29 June 2022 as my doctor told me I have excessive salivary gland. As of now my lips is still bumpy. Is there any procedure to do to make it normal? Should i engage in a Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery or ? Thanks in advance

I had a mucocele removal and sadly some lip tissue did not grow back leaving a noticable gap and making it difficult to close my lips together normally. I want the best technique possible for my case. I have heard of lip injectibles but it can cause migration/is temporary and fat grafting I heard can look bad. It has already been 4-5 months since the mucocele excision. Flap surgery is my main option I believe? How can similar can I expect the lip reconstruction to make my lips the same as before
About 3 years ago, I had a mucocele removed on my bottom lip which left a lump of scar tissue. I then went back to get that scar tissue excised last August and now have a depression and bumpiness in my lip from some scar tissue that's left. Do you think it's possible for me to get the affected side back to or close to original?
I had a medium sized mucocele removed from the inside of my bottom lip 2 years ago after biting it badly. The procedure was simple and it healed adequately from a health perspective. But now there is about a 1cm diameter spot from the outside of the lip into the inside which has no feeling, as well as a slightly raised scar on the inside, both of which are very annoying and also serves as a risk for biting it further. Can anything restore feeling and remove the 'extra' flesh?
Hello, I had a mucocele on my bottom lip removed ten years ago. The surgery left either some of the mucocele behind or it might be scar tissue. Theres now a bump on my bottom lip and I wanted to know what options I had to make my bottom lip look balanced and even. What procedures are available to fix this problem?
I had a mucocele surgery in Nov 2018. the surgery created another mucocele (worse and painful), so my doctor did the second surgery in March 2019. However since the second surgery there's a huge bump at the end of the sutures and a depression where my doctor did the incision (giving a sunken in look) I went to another doctor. We did a 5fu & kellog injection in April and Aug 2019.The injections have helped with the bump, not the depression. Is there a permanent fix for this?
Hi. I had a mucocele removed from my left lower lip exactly 2 weeks ago. It was large and the maxiofacial surgeon said he also removed surrounding salivary glands. 2 weeks later Im still unable to smile and have a big scab on my lip. Also inside my lip, Ive noticed there is solid swelling where the stitches were. Is this scar tissue? Will it go down or will it be there permanently? Im d it does go down; roughly how long should it be until I start seeing results?
3 weeks ago I got my mucocele removed. I had inside stitches but no outside stitches. The wound still swollen. I want to know if the scar will fade and what can i do to minimize scarring as it is a new wound. Please i am scared that my lip will stay like this.
Last month I had a horrible experience getting a mucocele removed. He hit a blood vessel and caused tissue to die as half of my lip was black. My lip has ended up being smaller with less tissue on one side with an indentation and scar running down it and my mouth doesnt meet properly. Can this be revised well? Also will my nerves recover? Half of my lip is numb
