I have had these dark spots on my chest, neck and forehead since I was younger. I believe they're birthmarks, but not entirely sure. They look similar to cafe-au-lait spots and are very splotchy. I also have something similar on my forehead but not sure if its related. Whenever I have extensive sun exposure, its usually the outer rims of my forehead that get darker. The spots on my forehead also have a weird leathery texture. Is there any way to remove this and to clear them?
Had my first IPL treatment on neck/chest by my dermatologist. 2 hours later I see grid marks looking like burns w/ welts and sent her a pic. Her response was looks like we achieved a great response. I showed my plastic surgeon, she was alarmed by the aggressive treatment, said the dermatologist should have done overlapping but didn't think the skin looked blistered/burned. Will this improve with a 2nd treatment if she treats between the grid marks? Should I get a prescription for Hydroquinone?
I got my first session of IPL laser hair removal for full face and neck yesterday but there is a lot of stubble today. Is this normal? I do have PCOS so I'm assuming this is a massive contributing factor. We decided to give electrolysis a rest and try to reduce the amount of hair using laser first and do electrolysis after 6 laser sessions. Will the hair continue to grow or fall out? I don't want to shave today just in case it negates the effect of the laser.
I currently started later hair removal on my face and neck. Can I also have Ipl photo facials done? It sounds like both treatments are very similar...can they be done in conjunction with each other?
I have a benign colloid thyroid nodule on the right. I was advised to do IPL laser hair removal by my dermatologist in the regions that bother me the most which is the chin and neck region in particular. My question is as follows: Will the IPL laser affect the benign thyroid nodule i have?
