Hi there My skin is still bright red at recipient site 8 months after procedure. Healing is fine otherwise. No itching or pain. Hair is growing in. Surgeon has tried steroid creams and hydroquinone with no result. Also consulted with dermatologist who made similar recommendations and advised against lasers to correct pigment as they may damage follicles. I'm really at a loss. There's been no change in months. Any advice? Would hate to live with this for life.
I got 1500 grafts for my hairline. My donor area was thin and so my surgeon could not place more (1800 was what he originally wanted to do). Will taking anabolic steroids for muscle growth affect my recipient area for hairline? I understand that they can affect my non transplanted hair but how about transplanted hair?
I have had back in 2014 my first hair transplant. As the hair loss progressed, a second surgery was done 3 month ago. Whilst everything went well, I started to develop a bald patch within the donor area which got bigger over the last 3 weeks. I have contacted the clinic in question which advised me to take a combo of retin-A, 5% minoxidil and a topical steroid cream. The first 4 pictures were taken today. The fifth picture was taken in January (7 weeks after the transplant)
I had FUE ht surgery a month ago .. Also I have mild psoriasis ... Before surgery my scalp was completely clean and now very few small psoriasis plaques occurred and this is normal .. Can I use my regular psoriasis lotions with cortisone and steroid content on my scalp .. I use dermovate scalp lotion .. I am afraid to harm my transplanted new hair ? Shall I use it or not?
