Redness 8 months post FUE - advice? (photos)

All hair transplantation procedures come with some side-effects but are generally temporary. It generally fades away in a time span of 1 to 3 weeks but some patients may experience this redness for a longer duration which is not permanent. In some of the rarest cases some patients with a very sensitive skin or pale skin may suffer from the redness for about two months.
The redness that persists in your scalp after the hair transplantation procedure can be visible at the backside of the head at the donor area and the place of implantation.

This redness is also known as ‘erythema’ which is a simple inflammation that occurs after the hair transplantation. Since the surgery involves procedures of incisions that are made in the skin the cards will begin to slowly heal around the newly implanted hair follicles. And redness is one of the processes of healing. Most of the patients noticed that the redness slowly decreases after two weeks of their surgery. However, in some of the hair transplantation cases, healing takes a bit longer depending on the nature of the procedure and the recovery rate of the patient, and so it may even take two months for the redness to completely vanish.

Normally, this redness that is related to healing will not affect your transplantation. But you should also look out, if this redness is not going away at all and must immediately consult with your doctor - because possibilities are the redness might have turned into;
A hair infection termed as folliculitis
Scalp infection called cellulitis
Small swelling under the skin called cyst
Dying or dead skin called skin necrosis
