I would like an independent review and advice. This is almost 3 months post-op. I tried to make pictures from different angles. On both sides, the helix is too far to the back which has made my ear wider and pointy. On the left, the part where the helix is connected is a hump. On the right, there's a gap between where where the helix is connected. Also on the right, the helix is actually placed next to the scapha instead of on top of it. I'm extremely unhappy with the result.
Hey, one month after ear surgery and very unhappy with the results. I'm one month after my otoplasty. The healing process was not easy. I had a small hematoma on the left ear that the doctor drained. And overall very bruised and painful healing. Im experiencing pain even now and still feel uncomfortable to expose the ears in public. I'm now 4 weeks after and the results is very disappointing. The difference is barely there. I'm seeing my surgeon in one week. I would love to hear your opinion about the result so far. Thank you
I am panicking. Had my op 4 days a go. Had a headband change today and had a quick peek of my ears. I have had a problem with my ears sticking out for many years. I did ask for my ears to go right back, and asked for my ears to look like this in these photos of me. But my ears are practically resting against my head and you can not even see I have ears from the front. So upset and worried this is how it will stay.
I have started to notice that on photos my left ear is different than my right. When I look in the mirror, there is hardly any difference between the ears, but if I take a picture, my ears look quite uneven. I realize this is because in the mirror my image is flipped. I am quite confident with how I look in the mirror but now that I know how I look in the pictures and therefore to other people, I always kinda feel unconfident about my looks.
Nearly a month after my otoplasty and my ears still look like they are tightly glued to the side of my head, can't put my hair behind my ears anymore and you can just about see them from front on, I'm not happy. They were operated on with the traditional method, and heard that this makes them less likely to come out over time and makes revision even harder. How much longer should I wait and see if they come out naturally before seriously considering revision surgery? Thanks
Hi, I had a bilateral otoplasty performed 10 days ago. I am not happy with the result so far, the tops of the ears are sticking out and have a telephone look to them. Was just wondering whether swelling should improve this or whether the surgeon did not pin them back adequately. I have attached photos. Thanks
I recently had otoplasty about 3.5 weeks ago on 1 ear and am unhappy with the results. First, I know it is too soon to judge, but here is my concern. The doctor used the conchal setback method and I feel like he removed way too much of the conchal bowl. Is the area he marked preop the amount actually removed? He says he removed 3mm but it looks like he removed the entire marked area. If he releases the sutures will more of the conchal bowl appear and amke it look more like it did pre surgery?
I just took the bandages off my operated ears and am shocked to see how close they are to my head. I see several answers that say the ears will "rebound" usually only if dissolvable sutures are used. I have no idea if mine are permanent or not - all I know is that I have to go and get my stitches taken out next week. I honestly hope that mine will rebound a few mm, otherwise I sincerely regret having done the surgery :(
