Hey, one month after ear surgery and very unhappy with the results. I'm one month after my otoplasty. The healing process was not easy. I had a small hematoma on the left ear that the doctor drained. And overall very bruised and painful healing. I’m experiencing pain even now and still feel uncomfortable to expose the ears in public. I'm now 4 weeks after and the results is very disappointing. The difference is barely there. I'm seeing my surgeon in one week. I would love to hear your opinion about the result so far. Thank you

Answer: What are you opinions about my ear surgery results 1 month post-op?
Unfortunately, I was unable to see any photos. However, if you do have a spitting stitch, it’s best to return to your surgeon so they can resolve the situation. They’ll most likely just remove or trim it. It’s a good idea to get this addressed earlier than later, to minimize the risk of infection.
Yours is not that pointy or even noticeable so I would leave it alone. Removing the tubercle is simple but difficult to get exactly the right contour and that could look weird so I advise against it.
The technique I recommend is partial conchal bone resection. This technique is easy to perform and produces symmetrical, predictable permanent results.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
