I have seen techniques that have involved injectables, cartilage transfer, and microtia repair that have succeeded in improving such ears. As long as you realize that perfection is not going to happen, you can find out what options you have for improvement. Don't give up and see several plastic surgeons.
Thanks for the question. 85% of the ear development is completed at the age of 3 and 93% at the age of 10. Because of that, this process can be carried out in the preschool period without the child having a social trauma. I wish you all the best.
I’m sorry to hear about your previous ear surgery. While this may be difficult to fix, it’s not impossible. Please see a surgeon who is experienced in otoplasty.
The deformity that you are showing is very challenging to correct. You should look for an experienced Otoplasty surgeon especially if you can find someone who does Microtia repair in kids and they should be able to help you. RegardsDr. Janjua
Your results are not good and I believe that you could expect a much better result if you see an experienced plastic surgeon who should be able to give you a detailed analysis of what could be done and what kind of results that you could expect.
If your ears were previously normally shaped and only protruded, then it is indeed a terrible result which can only occur in exceptional cases if a traditional ear-pinning operation was used. This is not possible with the minimally invasive Merck Stitch Method. A correction of these disfigured ears may be very difficult. Ask a local plastic surgeon.
