I got tired of this pouch on my stomach so I decided to get a mini mommy makeover. I have three kids all by c section. As soon as I meet Dr. Suh, I knew she was a perfectionist and felt like she would take good care of me. I also love the fact that she does a lot of work in Haiti for women and cancer survivors. Updated on 1 Apr 2014: So I'm in crazy amount of pain and feel like I have been popping pills. The doctor has been great though even though I've been calling all kinds of times at night. The drains are the really irritating point but I know that they are necessary for proper healing. When I went in for my checkup, my stomach already looked really flat and my breast looked a little bit Too small for my taste but it's still too early to tell. Either way I'm overall pleased. I will update pics before I take a shower. Updated on 10 Apr 2014: So I'm still in a lot of pain but I've slowed down with the medicine and only taking one pill aight. I finally am beginning to feel semi - normal, even though I still can't stand up straight. My doctor told me that She removed a lot of scar tissue so my recovery time Might be longer. Don't believe anyone who says you will be okay in two weeks. You really need 3-5 weeks recovery minimum. I have been going through some serious mood swings but I hope it's worth it in the end.
Although your photos are limited, I see that there is irregular contour of your tip cartilages. You have deficient cartilage at the tip. In addition, the soft triangle of your nose, the area just lateral to the tip, appears to be contracted. To gain better contour of your tip and to support your thin skin, I recommend Conchal Cartilage Graft in combination with soft tissue augmentation. Soft Tissue augmentation will act as a padding between the skin and the cartilage graft. The Dermal Fat graft or Alloderm may be used to augment the soft tissue. To correct the soft triangle constriction, Dermal-Conchal Cartilage graft inside the nose should be considered. Dermal-Conchal graft is where the ear cartilage is taken along with the overlying skin as a one piece. Be sure to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Explanation of the nasal anatomy will help you understand the above. The more information you gain, the more satisfied you will be. Best Wishes!
Alloderm may be used to increase the projection of Reconstructed Nipples as part of Breast Reconstruction. Alloderm is processed from the skin of the Organ Donors. Since Organ Donation is a gift, the Lifecell company, the makers of Alloderm, does not endorse the use of Alloderm for cosmetic procedures. Even so, Alloderm is used in many reconstructive and cosmetic procedures. However, I am not yet aware of using Alloderm to increase the projection of a normal nipple. We know from past use of Alloderm in Lip Augmentation, that the effect is not permanent and in many were short lived. As a result, we rarely use it now and has been replaced by Dermal Fillers. Dermal Fillers may be an option for you. I hope this was helpful. Consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for more information and for other options. Best Wishes!
Our eyes open when the Levator Muscle contracts(LM). The extension of the LM is known as Levator Aponeurosis(LV). When the LV is connected to the eyelid skin, as the eye opens the skin is pulled in, causing a skin dimple known as the eyelid fold. In natural folds, the connections between the LV and the skin are intertwined as that of a basket weave. However, when the connection is made surgically, it is just a one point connection along a line. Therefore, if the balance between the muscle and the skin thickness or the pulling force of the muscle to the thickness of skin is not right, then partial or complete loss of the fold may occur. In your case, you have partial loss of fold definition on the left eyelid. In addition, the fold extension is too short. The fold needs to be extended more laterally. Both may be corrected by reinforcing the folds with intermittent sutures placed at the lateral edge, at the center, and the medial corners. If you desire larger folds or increased fold width, then open revision of both eyelids must be done. However, I would caution against widening the fold too much. The current width is very natural at this time. It is very important to consult with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon experienced with Asian Eyelid surgery. Best Wishes!
The socket lines that you are referring to is an appearance where the rim or the edge of the orbital bone is more prominent than the soft tissue below it. This line may be blunted by the fat herniation in your upper eyelid, thickness of eyelid skin, and thick muscles. Surgical procedure to correct this involves excision of the upper eyelid fat and excision of a strip the eyelid muscle known as orbicularis occuli muscle. Rather than excising the fat, tightening of the septum or the layer that covers the fat may be more appropriate. If fat excision is planned, it is very important not to over-excise the fat. With the aging process, we may have atrophy or degeneration of the upper eyelid soft tissue where the eyes look "sunken in". This can make us look older than our age. "Sunken Look" can also occur from over-excision of fat. I have treated many patients who had too much fat excised at young age that needed to be correct with fat grafts. Your mother may have the "socket lines" that you speak of from her natural aging process. It is possible that you may get that appearance with aging. Be sure to consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon experienced in performing Asian Eyelid surgery. If surgery is not your thing, then, consult with a Make-up artists who specialize in Asians. Whichever road you take, have confidence. Best Wishes!
The photos of your eye/eyelid are necessary to answer your questions fully. Like you, most people have eye and eyelid shape that are similar but not identical. When epicanthal folds are released, usually they are fully released. If the folds are not fully corrected, then traction lines may form at the uncorrected portion. However, if one eyelid epicanthal fold is minimal, then the other eyelid epicanthal release may be shaped to create better symmetry. So yes, it is possible. It is important to have a goal that is to create balance and symmetry, not identical shape. Be sure to consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Best Wishes!
