Everyones teeth unique, I have seen patients have a tooth move in as little as a couple days.  I have also had patients who have forgot to come in a get their retainer or miss their appointment come in a month later and everything looks perfect and the retainer still fits.  Teeth with rotations are the most unstable and seem to move the fastest.  The good news is that even if a tooth moves a little the retainer will bring it back into place in the majority of cases.  You should be fine, if not I am sure the orthodontist will make things right.  All the best

I cannot see how Invisalign could cause your teeth and restorations to start breaking down.  In fact because the aligners protect the surface of your teeth while wearing them they probably help longevity of dental work.  

I always like my patients to have very realistic expectations of what they are going to acheive with their orthodontic treatment.  "Underpromise and overdeliver".  Based on your excellent photos I do bevieve your upper teeth are all a bit tipped inward (towards the tongue).  Invisalign will do an excellent job of tipping them out a bit.  You said that you are looking for "a lot wider".  Realistically your bicuspids (the widest point in your arch) will likely only be expanded about 4mm at the most.  This will help and decrease the dark corridors in the corners of your smile but I am not sore its going to give you the Whitney Houston- wall to wall teeth across your smile that you may be looking for.  Hope that helps.  Just dont want to see someone start treatment and be disappointed with outcome.

When you first get braces your lips will be more protrusive.  You will have to actually use lip muscles to get your mouth closed over your braces.  This is especially true if you have protrusive or flared upper teeth or an overbite.  This will get better within a week and your lips wont have to work so hard to get over your braces and the braces will not feel like they are sticking out so far.  hang in there.

So your tooth alignment looks really good from what I can see.  As far as not liking the lack of "tooth display at rest", this is not really a tooth alignment issue.  The reason you dont show a lot of tooth when you open your mouth is you have a slightly long upper lip.  This requires a surgical correction to either raise the upper lip line or lower the upper jaw line in the front.  A fairly expensive proposition.  See an oral surgeon to evaluate your options.
