Back in 2021 I got a very bad cut on my lower cheek + jaw that was about 2 inches long. After healing I had a big bright red hypertrophic scar and it affected my self-esteem immensely. It was also painful to move my face because the scar pulled my skin tightly. After consulting with a few different doctors I chose Dr. Tolan because he genuinely listened and cared about what I said. He also has lots of experience with scars because of his work on patients with cleft palates. Over the course of about two years I received treatment from him pretty much every month. First he started with steroid injections to loosen the scar tissue, and then we moved on to broadband light treatment to make it appear smoother and less red. Now my scar isn’t the first thing people see about my face. His work genuinely improved my life.
I saw Dr. Tolan for multiple procedures throughout the course of my adolescence related to cleft lip & palate. He has performed nasal surgeries on me as well as placed tubes in my ears & even removed a mole. He always made me feel so comfortable & involved in the process. I am forever grateful for him & cannot recommend him enough. He was my surgeon for the majority of my life growing up until I was about 21 years old. If you’re looking for someone to not only give you the results you’re aiming for but a genuine, honest opinion; I cannot recommend Dr. Tolan enough.
Dr. Tolan is uniquely talented. He managed to reduce my hump and still keep my ethnic features intact. No one noticed I had anything done, and I am so much happier with my nose. Plus, I can breathe better! I battled with the decision of aesthetically changing my nose for a long time (6 years) and I'm so happy I chose him. He and his team are amazing.
I had a rhinoplasty done by a plastic surgeon but he failed to correct my deviated septum, which was my chief complaint. I thought it was something that I was just going to have to learn to live with. However, after I was diagnosed with asthma, I consulted with an ENT. He explained to me how he could correct my deviated septum and open up my airways so I could breathe better. But I left there feeling like he didn't have much concern for how my nose was going to look. That's when I realized I did not need an ENT or a plastic surgeon. I needed an ENT AND a plastic surgeon. Within minutes of meeting Dr. Tolen, I knew I had finally found the right one. He explained the septoplasty procedure to me, but also took into account the overall size and shape of my nose and gave me a good idea of how it was going to look. He was very honest about communicating expectations, which I appreciated. I could tell he is someone who pays a lot of attention to detail, which gave me a great sense of relief. I booked my surgery that same day knowing I had made the right decision. I was very impressed by the sense of professionalism by all of the nurses and staff and the care I received there. They all take the time to explain things to you and make you feel comfortable. It's been three weeks post-op, and I couldn't be happier with the results. My nose looks fantastic, but nobody can even tell that I have had any work done. Except me, of course. Because for the first time in my life, I can actually breathe with my mouth closed!
My motivation to have a consultation with Dr. Tolan was due to a deviated septum and difficulty breathing that I've experienced my entire life. Overall, I am very happy with the results. if I had to choose whether I would have surgery knowing what I know now, I would have the surgery again with Dr. Tolan. The surgeon can make or break your experience and outcome. Updated on 6 Jun 2016: I will work on getting my before/after pictures from the office, but for now I will post an image on my account of my nose only a month after surgery. The nose continues to heal for 2 years so a month after surgery there's still considered to be "a lot of swelling". Dr. Tolan's work is done with such a high skill and precision that even a month after surgery I was extremely happy with the results.
My eyelids were very droopy and barely open. In photos I looked very tired at best and creepy at worst. I needed professional photos for work. I will have to work for years yet. I thought I might benefit from an upper blepharoplasty. I consulted two MDs then Dr. Tolan. I am certain all three are very competent as I did a lot of research. The first MD recommended Fraxel laser repair then maybe upper blepharoplasty if I still needed it later. The second MD quoted me a price for upper blepharoplasty. When I asked whether my brow might be a cause he gave me a price for a facelifht. Then a price for for lower eyelids.... The third MD, Dr. Tolan, actually carefully manipulated my eyelids and brow to show me that I only had a little excess skin and fat in my upper eyelids and surgery there would not achieve a lot. He showed me that a brow lift would accomplish much more. He pointed out that my wrinkled forehead was due to me raising my forehead/brow for years in order to see. He also discussed scars in detail and showed me pictures of the variety of scars patients had in the past and where they would be. He was the ONLY MD of the three to do any of these and more I don't have time to write about. No one else even touched my eyelids or forehead or even mentioned scars. The price was $7K for both browlift and eyelids. I asked for the eyelids also as the added cost was not great and I was being operated on anyway.
Dr. Tolan and his team are friendly and welcoming. The results however, are poor. I had a Septo-rhinoplasty with Dr. Tolan and over a year post procedure, I’m left with a bumpy and crooked nose. Given his 20+ years of experience, I’m surprised by the results and I don’t trust to go under the knife a second time for a revision with Dr. Tolan and his team. Needless to say, I’m sad, angry about the results and worried about the additional costs for a revision and the time it will take to heal. I can not speak to other procedures offered by Dr. Tolan and his office, but I Do Not recommend Dr. Tolan for rhinoplasty or septoplasty.
Surgery is scheduled for 9/21. I've been planning this for about 4-5 years but finally started with the process in April. I'm getting deviated septum fixed, my dorsal bump removed, nose straighten and the tip points down when I smile so we are also fixing that. I have a little over 5 wks before my procedure. I can't wait to have a new cuter nose! I'm am afraid of the final results I'm just hoping things go as planned. I have my Preop appt on Sept 2nd so I will add more info then. Updated on 19 Aug 2017: Including to front photos to show how deviated crooked my septum is and also to show nose droop. Updated on 19 Aug 2017: Updated on 22 Sep 2017: Oh my Pain pills have made me feel miserable!! I'm dizzy and feel nauseous and couldn't even get to writing this review till now Almost 24 hrs after because I couldn't function. I felt ok after surgery just a sore throat and mild headache. 2 hrs after I got home I started to feel it. My head was killing me, my teeth hurt and my jaw and I could feel the swelling in my eyes and nose starting. I took a pain pill and it helped most of the pain go away but after a hr I felt so dizzy and nauseous I could hardly move. I've only been sleeping off and on a few hours at a time. I wake up cause my throat is dry or I have to cough. Plus I've been having to change my bandages every two hours and clean my nose. There has been a lot of blood! So all these things have made it more difficult. The head pain seems to be going away but I can feel in more in my nose and face and teeth now. This hasn't been easy but I can't say I'm dying in pain just very uncomfortable.i just wish I could sleep for more than a few hrs. Also I get tired very easily and after getting up few minutes I need to lay back down otherwise my pain gets worse and more bleeding starts and I feel dizzy. Only positive so far is bruising doesn't look like it will be too bad. At least not yet! I'm happy about that for sure! Updated on 23 Sep 2017: I was able to get some sleep last night finally the pain is mostly gone. I took my last pain pill at 6pm last night. I'm just taking a extra strength tynelol to help with mouth and teeth pain. I feel better but I do feel the dry crusts in my nose and they feel hard and my nose feels stiff. I've been putting nasal spray and ointment in every hr to help. It helps a little but it still feels very hard and like there is a stuff stuck in there. It's hard to describe! I also am way more swollen today and my eyes are very puffy. I hope that starts going away! Updated on 25 Sep 2017: Bruising is getting better and I'm not as puffy. I'm feeling better since I'm sleeping well. My nose it just really dry and crusty. My teeth hurt still otherwise no more news. 2 more days until I get my cast off! Updated on 27 Sep 2017: I'm shocked at how different it looks. My nose is so much smaller and my profile is amazing! The front view I'm not so happy with at least not yet. My nose looks super fat and swollen and I still have some bruising. I know it will take a while for that to go down and I'm hoping that it will because I don't like my nose looking this fat. Feel like it's swallowing my eyes because it's so swollen. I think tomorrow I will try to put some make up on and do up my eyes that will probably help. I'm just really worried about it shrinking enough. Otherwise I am definitely happy with my profile and the differences he made in my tip. Just the top part of my nose near my eyes that looks so big! I'm only six not even seven days after so I can't worry too much. Also my left side is super swollen and the tissue is like almost covering my whole nostril. It feels like I have something stuck in there. I'm hoping this goes down too cause it's not a good feeling! Also I can still see some of my stitches poking out. Updated on 27 Sep 2017: Just wanted to put more from the front view and side. Updated on 28 Sep 2017: Just looks horrible from the front right now. I'm going back to work tomorrow and I'm paranoid. I don't look like myself at all. Updated on 29 Sep 2017: Seem a little better today. It still feels swollen but I am just going to have to deal with it for now Updated on 30 Sep 2017: Still looking wide! Updated on 6 Oct 2017: A little less wide but still swollen. It's still dry and I have been putting lots of saline in there. Updated on 9 Oct 2017: I think I have a infection in one nostril. It's my right nostril and it is very painful and uncomfortable. Woke up on Friday morning and was blowing out blood and yellow stuff mostly out of the right nostril but a little from the left as well. I also smelled a weird funny smell that was coming from my nose. I got to work and my nose started to feel super dry and tight and swollen and matter how much Saline I put in there it would not stop being uncomfortable. I wanted to see if it would just go away because I thought maybe it was just part of the healing process but on Saturday I woke up and it was worse still yellow stuff coming out and my nose was super swollen and red and the inside hurts so bad on the oute I wanted to see if it would just go away because I thought maybe it was just part of the healing process but on Saturday I woke up and it was worse still yellow stuff coming out and my nose was super swollen and red and the inside hurts so bad. I kept thinking I should probably call the doctor but I didn't want to have to call on the weekend and get the on-call doctor so I bought some anabiotic ointment and apply that all day Saturday and before bed. It helped a little bit but on Sunday I woke up and I still had pain. Finally Sunday night I just decided I was sick of it and I called the on-call doctor. He prescribed me antibiotics that I've been taking since last night. I still don't feel any better and I have a really bad headache too. I'm really hoping this gets better soon because I'm so over this process and I just want my life back. If I don't feel better by Wednesday I'm gonna go back in and see my surgeon and have him look at it. I thought it might be a suture that's infected so maybe there something he could do. I just want to feel better!!!?????????? Updated on 9 Oct 2017: Show the redness and swelling Updated on 14 Oct 2017: I do feel better and only have two antibiotic pills left and then I’ll have finished the whole 14 pills. After the third day I started to feel better. I do still have dryness in my nose and in the morning it’s seems to be quite a bit worse. I make sure to bring the Saline nasal spray with me everywhere and also Aquaphor ointment and to put inside my nose at least 2 to 3 times a day. My nose looks like it’s thinning out a little bit on the bridge which is a good sign. I do have a little rash underneath my incision and have had a lot of blackheads-and some breakouts going on lately. ( I know gross) The skin on my nose has been really oily for some reason so thatprob why. Updated on 31 Oct 2017: I have a small hole in my right nostril on the outside where the inside bump was. This is the side that had the infection problems. Anyways after the infection cleared I felt a little better for a few days but then that area start feeling super hard and it felt like there was like something inside my skin on the outer part of my nostril. I heard that it could be scar tissue and that it helps to massage it. So I started massaging it for a few days then one day I woke up and I noticed a small bubble on the outside of my nostril almost like a blister or small zit. Of course I was annoyed and I wanted to see what was going on so I popped it. Some clear liquid and blood came out of this little hole. I kept pushing on it and just tiny bits of blood kept coming out. Then it stopped but I could still feel like there’s something in there but I was scared to keep messing with this little hole. Anyways I was trying to leave it alone because a scab formed on the outside to close that little opening. The hard tissue was still annoying me so I started to rub it again and then the scab fell off and it opened again and more blood came coming out. No I wasn’t too shocked about this because it wasn’t a huge amount of blood it was just tiny little droplets. It’s not really painful it’s just kind of annoying. I’m still getting some yellow discharge. I’m sneezing a lot and blowing my nose a lot which is weird since my nose is still kind of dry. I still put saline in it about 5 to 6 times a day. Anyways I know I have to make an appointment with my doctor to have him look at this little opening. I pray that it will close and this [RS bleep] will go away. I’m scared that I’ll have to have another surgery to close it or I’ll have a scar on the outside of my nose by my nostril. I’m so tired of dealing with my nose. As of Thursday I am supposed to be six weeks postop so I should be completely healed besides some swelling but that’s not the case. Also the weird smell came back. I know there is something wrong. I just really hope this stops and I can heal and be done with it!!! Updated on 11 Dec 2017: I’ve been doing well for the last few weeks that red spot cleared up there’s no hole anymore there is still Redmark where that spot was. Super noticeable and if I have make up on you can’t see it at all. I felt like I’ve had a cold the past few weeks I’ve been kind of stuffy and I’ve had a lot of phlegm I don’t know if my nose surgery made that worse but I think it’s finally starting to go away. I no longer have to put Aquaphor Whitman and my nose every few hours or put nasal spray in there. I do still use the spray like once a day or so because sometimes my nose still feels tight ..1 Then went way down in my bridge looks normal now I’m very happy with how my nose looks and turned out. Pictures and I really can’t believe how bad it was I’m so happy I got it done even though it was pretty much hell for like three months I don’t think the swelling is completely gone I still have some on the left side and I still have a runny nose which I’m hoping will go away. Only thing I have to complain about is my nose goes from stuffy to Ronnie at seems like I have a lot of extra discharge still than I should. I feel like I have to blow my nose all the time which I don’t think is normal? It still hasn’t been three months though so I want to give it more time and just hope for the best. I am scheduled for January 3rd, however, still battling the decision of what size to get. I would like to go with the 5mm to make the procedure worth it, since my fear is that the 4 mm is playing it too safe and may be too subtle. Although I want to make my mouth bigger, I don't want them to look unnatural or like sausages. I don't have super thin lips, however I have a very narrow mouth that isn't wide, so I'm wondering how the implants would look with the shape of my lips. any feedback is greatly appreciated! Will update! Updated on 3 Jan 2017: I am about 3-4 hours post-op and starting to finally feel as though the pin is manageable. When I first got into my car I was still numbed up but the pain was already kicking in and they swelled up right away. I had to say the pain was excruciating for a bit and did not settle until I took some pain meds, that really helped. It's hard to close my mouth all the way and have to force it shut therefore it's hard to swallow. However, definitely easier to close my mouth at the moment and I'm feeling a lot better about things. As far as the procedure, it went better than I expected. It was a little uncomfortable at first until I told him to numb me more. Then I was amazed at how little I could feel. Couldn't even really feel the tugging. My dr. Recommend going with 4mm since it would create a pocket so that I could then go with the 5mm later on if I still wanted them bigger. Despite this I still decided to go with the 5mm becuase I wanted to see a difference. I may regret this in a week when I need to go back into work and look like sausage lips, but, who knows, maybe, they will turn out better than I expected! I feel as though the swelling and pain after the procedure was awful I could barely function. So I hope I am past the worst. Updated on 4 Jan 2017: I woke up with my lips being more swollen then they where the first day, though they are no longer uncomfortable. They are also bruised on the inside of my lips. Eating isn't too difficult as long as I eat soft foods and need to drink carefully with liquids. I am worried about food getting caught in the stitches therefore I try to rinse my mouth under the facet after I eat. Talking is still very difficult as I can't open my mouth very wide due to the stitches, therefore I have been only mumbling when I need to talk. The images from today look a bit unsightly. I smeared my lips in tons of aquaphor and also did an at home chemical peel since I am out for a week anyways. Therefore my skin also looks a little rough around the edges. Updated on 4 Jan 2017: Updated on 5 Jan 2017: Swelling has not gone down any, It appears to be about the same? Maybe a little more swollen actually? On the left I can see the implant bowing out more than on the other side, I am hoping this issue resolves as the swelling goes down... I'm no longer in pain at all, but I have to say the feeling of your lips being numb and so swollen is annoying to deal with. Right now I would really like to be able to 1. Go out in public. I'm getting so bored cooped up at home. 2. Open my mouth so I can talk and eat normally Updated on 6 Jan 2017: Woke up with the corner of my lip now being black. My lips are not painful but are still raw/sore to touch and feel numb. Really can't wait for this feeling to go away. I'm also nervous that the black on the corner of my lips isn't just bruising and is tissue necrosis due to the implant blocking the blood supply. Just tried contacting ps to see if I need to even worry. The implant is also bulging out on that side so I hope things settle soon ???? Updated on 7 Jan 2017: It's day 5 and the top is less swollen, while the bottom is about the same.... Still very bruised, and protruding on one side. I tried to cover the bruise with lip color but now the asymmetry on my lips is even more obvious. No way I am leaving the house! I'm getting nervous becuase I am scheduled to work Monday :( I have a feeling the bottom implant is too long so I will bring this up to my ps on Tuesday at my post-op. Still difficult to talk simply becuase the stitches are sore if I laugh or open my mouth. Really wish I could talk normally and brush my teeth...I have kept this a secret so I am nervous to go into work as it is obvious something is seriously wrong with my lips ???? Updated on 7 Jan 2017: Day 5 night. Swelling is down a lot, and I am feeling a lot better seeing the results with makeup on finally. I am feeling slightly more optimistic. Updated on 8 Jan 2017: My lips now don't seem to be that much bigger than they were previous to getting the implants. To make matters worse, my bottom lip is now distorted and I don't think he made the tunnel even on both sides causing the implant not to fit into the corner of my mouth correctly, thus it is still bulging out. I am only 6 days post op but I feel like this issue won't go away. Updated on 8 Jan 2017: Not sure whether it needs to be pushed into the corner of my mouth more or if I should try sliding it towards the other side of my mouth. I have a feeling the tunnel wasn't made correctly in that corner Updated on 10 Jan 2017: Had my post op app today at day 7 and dr says everything looks good! He explained the corner is most likely protruding on the bottom due to swelling still, therefore I hope that's the case! Can't purse my lips together and still looks/feels unnatural when I talk. What exercises did you guys to loosen up your mouth? Updated on 10 Jan 2017: Earlier I stated i didn't notice much change now that the swelling was going down. However after looking at old photos I now see a huge difference! My lips are more pouty and have a lot more volume, anyone that us seen me the past couple of days has asked me if I did something to my lips.... What I like the most is that my upper lip now seems shorter. However, I am still contemplating getting a lip lift as I still think my lips hang down lower than I like. I have young though and my top teeth do show at rest, so I'm not sure if an ps would follow through with it or not. Updated on 11 Jan 2017: Suture not sore when I woke up think it is due to suture rubbing against teeth on upper lip after eating or talking. Sometimes gets irritated after eating. Not sure when the sutures are supposed to come out? Updated on 13 Jan 2017: Ugh. Not sure if it was worth it honestly... Most of the swelling has gone down so now my lips look as they did before with maybe a little bit of filler... The corner of my lip is now also messed up and looks even more ridiculous if I wear lip color (which I need to do since my lips are still terribly bruised.) I have a feeling the tunnel was not made correctly on that side and I am hoping the dr. Will fix it free of charge, he said it is fine and due to swelling. Though I cannot feel the implant in the corner of my lip like I can on the other side, leading me to believe it's not even. I don't go in for another two weeks so I'm wondering if I should call before that Incase the tunnel closes up more?? Updated on 13 Jan 2017: I can now smile fully but it takes a little more effort as my lips still feel like tight bands. I'm confident this will go away in time. Still can't make a kissing face yet, though it's getting better. Updated on 13 Jan 2017: I do have to say they look much bigger when I'm wearing lip color for some reason. So much so that I don't really like the look. Maybe I'm just not used to it, but had to do for now since Its my first day back to work and don't want people asking about my bruised lips. Updated on 19 Jan 2017: EVERYONE so far has noticed my lips and that is NOT what I wanted. I wanted to look better but didn't want people to guess I got my lips done. It is very obvious due to the ridge above my lips. I feel very insecure and regret everything. I feel so down about myself and wish I could get them removed as soon as possible. :( I'm not sure what the down time would be if I had them removed I would need to speak with my dr. Updated on 19 Jan 2017: The implants certainly made my lips bigger and there is a huge difference, so much so that I don't like it and don't think it looks natural. With my profession I do also do not think they are appropriate as they are not conservative enough and I look 'done' even without makeup. Now, some of you, this may be the look you are going for though I wish I would have preceded with more caution before getting the 5mm and perhaps the 4mm would have been enough. Likewise living in the Midwest big lips and injections are not as trendy as certain parts of the u.s. I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb. My bottom implant is also still uneven when I smile and sticks out at the edge. Updated on 19 Jan 2017: They were small but I actually think they suit my face Updated on 20 Jan 2017: Updated on 20 Jan 2017: My lips look to big and obnoxious if i wear lipgloss or lip color. I used to over line my lips, I can't imagine what I would look like if I did that now. Even clear lip gloss makes me lips look unnatural becuase they look too volumized to be real. Again some people may like this look. But for someone who doesn't want to stand out from the crowd, it's too much. Updated on 22 Jan 2017: So I do think that the bottom implant is still a little uneven in its positioning on the one side, HOwEVER, I do think it is WAY more visible in photos and looks much worse than it is. I believe it's similar to the way cameras captures my nose to make it look more wavy or crooked In pictures if that makes sense? I am still going to ask my dr. To try and fix the one side when I go in in a few weeks. Though I'm starting to realize I'm happier with them than I thought I was just embarrassed and concerned about the opinions of others so much after everyone kept noticing. I do think the swelling has gone down very slightly each day still. Updated on 22 Jan 2017: Here's another pic from far away taken around day 14. Here you can see they look a little less crooked. There's still something about my mouth area I'm unhappy with. I think my nasolobial lines and down turned mouth are emphasized. Though these are things I did not like pre-op anyways. Not sure of a good long term solution for those as I don't want to get filler and Botox several times a year for the rest of my life (I'm only 23) I have thought about cheek implants as a permanent solution, though wouldn't that make my already full chubby face even fuller? Updated on 28 Jan 2017: So the swelling has continued to go down, thank god. I can tell the one side is much less uneven in person and in pictures. It's certainly not perfect but I k ow my lips weren't perfectly symmetrical to begin with, nor is the rest of my face. I've had a few more people notice them saying "your lips look good!" As in the new I us to have done something. But I am starting to accept it and just own it, many girls wish to be able to do this themselves. I can definitely feel the implant on one side of my lips if I run my tongue along it and not in the other side, therefore I'm surprised you can't see a very prominent difference in appearance on either side. I think overall my lips look great, though I'm not quite sure yet if they suit ME. When I go in for another app I'm going to request to see my before and after a so I can compare them. Maybe I am being to scrupulous, but becuase my lips are so pouty it creates a deep valley where it dips low between my lips and nasolobial folds, which I think looks a bit odd and add added attention to that area. I know my nasolobial folds weren't made bigger but are more obvious since this area used to be flat below my nose and now has an obvious curve. I know I could fix this with filler but I want a more permanent solution since I'm young. It's almost like you need several more procedures to adapt the changes your face makes with one! I'm still really contemplating a nose job as I have wanted one for about 10 years and it still hasn't slipped my mind. Though that's more $$$. I have a feeling that procedure would really change my face the most and make me the most satisfied. Updated on 28 Jan 2017: My lips were really small before however I think they fit my face better. I think sometimes we take for granted the features we have Updated on 28 Jan 2017: Not sure if they look right with my cabbage patch cheeks. Too much puffiness/fullness going on down there Updated on 30 Jan 2017: I feel like sometimes they look crooked and sometimes they look alright but not great. You can tell in one of these pictures they actually do look crooked and I'm not making a face. They also hang wierd when my mouth is relaxed. I almost feel as if they are too heavy for my face. I think if they tapered into the corners on my mouth more they would look better. I'm getting a consultation for rhinoplasty in a month and will also consider either buccal fat removal or cheek implants for the fullness in my lower face and nasolobial folds Updated on 30 Jan 2017: I'm only 23... I feel like the area around my mouth ages me so much. Really wish I could see my before and after Updated on 1 Feb 2017: So it's almost a month and I'm feeling like my lips are starting to become more a part of me. I think I freaked out at first becuase I was used to my old lips and the implants have changed my face a lot. I can tell they will stil continue to improve and become more natural, each day they feel and function more and more like my old lips. After playing around with some apps I think the thing I am not liking is my recessed chin and the fact that my now big bottom lip draws added attention to this. I think my lower face looks a lot more balanced if my chin were to project more and the pre-jowl sulcus area where to be filled in. I already had a ps mention that my pre-jowl sulcus was weak in a consultation. I am now considering moving forward with that operation. What do you think? I made a simulated before and after below Updated on 1 Feb 2017: Only change was addition of implants Updated on 15 Feb 2017: my lips are def bigger but not convinced yet that I like this look on ME. My Dr. wants me to come back in 8 weeks to see how they are healing but he now agrees they are a bit uneven. He said the best thing to do would be to remove the bottom implant, let them heal, and then redo them. Now I am getting a rhino and buccal fat removal done in early may by a diff doctor. I am not super happy with my lips, but I do not think they look so terrible that they need to be removed or replaced right away. So far my feelings for them are "meh" don't LOVE them, but they also don't bother me. I also don't think they make me anymore unattractive, nor add to my appearance. I regret not getting a rhino right off the bat instead of some other small procedure that I think could benefit me. I am hoping my rhino and buccal fat removal will help change my appearance in the way I want it too. Perhaps in a year or two I will decide I am ready to revise my lips. I think when I do I will probably go down to the 4mm becuase I dont thin the 5mm suits my face and now actually prefer the small pouty mouth I had before. The 5mm definitely gave my lips a wider appearance, that I actually wanted in the first place since I hated how small my mouth was. Now I want that back. Updated on 15 Feb 2017: Updated on 22 Jun 2017: Issues: Bottom implant healed unevenly. Self conscious of my mouth. Lip corners turn down even more now. Nasolobial folds emphasized now. Before my mouth was small but it had a nicer shape. I am getting them removed as soon as I can get time off to recover. Really really wish I would have done an upper lip lift instead...
It sounds as though you had a endonasal approach to the tip of the nose as opposed to an external approach. I am assuming the photos included are the preoperative views. Even with this type of approach it is still very early in the process of healing to make any decisions on whether or not you will need additional surgery. Having a discussion early with your surgeon regarding your concerns is helpful. Ask them to lay out a plan including a time frame for you in the event that there is not resolution of your concerns. It is not unusual for differences in healing to occur on different sides of the nose. I would also ask your surgeon whether he/she feels this is normal and if it will resolve with time.
More likely than not you are a person who is used to elevating you eyebrow naturally giving rise to your forehead wrinkles, the reason you moved forward with Botox therapy. When small amounts of Botox are placed in the frontalis muscle, the muscle responsible for elevating your brow and giving rise to your wrinkles, the muscle relaxes. Your wrinkles improve and your brow position remains in a more natural position. When to much Botox is injected the brow drops or becomes ptotic, giving you a heavy feeling and a tired small look to your eyes. Typically this over a few weeks the feeling improves and the brows start elevating. I do not think your issues are related to an allergy.
Shortening the nose can be done by increasing rotation (lifting the tip up) or or de projecting (bringing the tip closer to your face) and or a combination of both. This can be accomplished either using a external or open approach or an endonasal "closed" approach and would be dictated by your surgeon as to which they felt would give you the best overall result. Depending on the anatomy of your nose you may not need to modify the tip of your nose.
It is not uncommon to have a steroid injected into the nose following a rhinoplasty. This is typically done to reduce swelling on the outside of the nose in particular the tip. A single injection site may be used or multiple small sites may be used. Typically the steroid is deposited where you want the effect however to avoid a second injection site and less pain they may have done it through a single injection site. It is. It uncommon to repeat the steroid depending on the type of reponse you and the surgeon are seeing.
Elongated ear lobes are frequently associated with aging. Treatment of the aged ear lobe is a relatively straight forward office procedure performed using a local injection anesthetic. The cost will vary among clinics and experience for our office the charge is $500. For those individuals who also have prominent ears and are considering undergoing otoplasty it is very common for the ear lobe to be flared or rotated forward almost lying horizontal rather than hanging vertical. This can give the ear a more prominent appearance in addition to many other factors. When otoplasty is performed it is common to remove a small piece of cartilage which corrects this deformity.
