The temporary crown came off around 6 PM Saturday and I can't see the dentist until 8AM Monday. I tried to recement it myself based on what I've seen online, but the material I was trying to cement with was painful on the tooth so I took it off. Is it OK to leave the temp crown off until the dentist can put it back properly? Right now I've put it back without cement, but I'm afraid to leave it like that overnight in case it comes off and I swallow it.
Last night it happened again and I almost swallowed it. I am thinking of asking my dentist for a partial refund, cut my losses and find a new dentist. I am afraid if it happens again I might swallow it. Any advice or comments will be welcome. I hate to leave his practice, but thinking it might be necessary.
I lost a crown several months ago and have yet to go to an oral surgeon to have him/her simply remove the what's left of that area so that I can get an implant! What's left of that area are the remnants of the original tooth (very scary and discolored) and the post that once held the crown in place (it sticks out a few mm). The post now moves a bit and I'm worried it will come out all the way and I will swallow it - therefore doing great harm! Will the post come out or are they put in well?
