If you are still grinding your teeth, it may be that the doctor did not feel composite restorations or veneers would last. It is worth discussing with your doctor. Without photos or xrays, it is difficult to tell you whether there are other viable options, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Hi: There are rare occasions that a temporary will not stay on the tooth however a permenant crown with permenant cement will stay.  Make sure the top of the tooth where the root canal was done is completely sealed. Best, Dr. Maddahi
