ever since I had my reduction, which was nearly 16 years ago, periodically, my areolas will get extremely dry and flaky. This has happened more than one time. I have pretty severe eczema, as well, though sometimes the areola dryness occurs absent an eczema flare. But when I'm mid-flare, the areola dryness/flakiness almost always co-occurs. But during this current flare, my areola skin seems to just be breaking down. They ooze serum, and are crusty in general. Any clues what this could be?
I am 10 days post op from a bi lateral breast reduction surgery. The right breast had 360grams removed but the left had 700grams so its healing has been harder. I am concerned about the skin on my left breast nipple. The nipple area is pretty dark on the edges and while there is still dried blood the skin has been dry and flaky. If i scratch it the skin underneath is sometimes pink? The nipple still has feeling and gets hard however. Is this normal, the dry flaky skin, or should I be concerned?
The nipple that is irritated is the left nipple and as you can see in the picture is red and inflamed! I think its probably just a part of the healing process but just want to make sure its not abnormal. It's not warm to the touch or anything....will this go away as my healing progresses?
3.5 weeks post BR. I have recently noticed over the last day or two my skin being quite dry and flaking in certain areas of my breasts. Of most concern near the vertical incision lines as they now appear wider to me and a lot redder/pinker. I have thin skin and am prone to eczema. I am currently using vitamin e oil and silicone gel twice a day for scar management.. I also had skin irritation from tape which seems to be ok now. Should I be concerned about this or just part of the healing process?
2 almost 3 months post op and I'm healing great all incision are closed by my right nipple is so dry flaky in itchy it's driving me crazy, I have my nipples pierced and I don't want to take them out so I've removed the right one. Whenever I itch it it's like it never relents and I've been putting moisturizer and bacitracin on it and it seemed to help for a short period but it always comes back Itching with a vengeance. Ps I'd go to my PC but he's about and 1:15 mins away And I'm in school full time help!
