I have been told by a practioner that I have a strong mentallis muscle, which is what creates my prominent cleft chin and deep mental crease. I have had derma filler in my chin and mental crease, which has lessened the appearance of these things slightly but I feel my chin now has more of a square appearance, rather than giving me the elegant heart shape face I desire. Would having Botox to relax the mentallis muscle and then having filler help with this? Is that a safe procedure?
I was considering getting fillers for my chin (implant isn't an option). My dermatologist mentioned that she wasn't comfortable giving me fillers yet because my mentalis felt tight, and she said it could move. She suggested botox to relax the mentalis. From what Ive read, it seems like its used to smoothen out dimples or wrinkles on the chin. I have neither so I was hoping to get some information in regards to this and whether this would make my chin appear relatively more pronounced.
1 week ago after 2 injections of 5 units to mentalis for very slight chin dimpling my smile is hideously deformed. 1. I cant speak and smile at the same time. 2. My bottom lip sits SO high on my smile now. 3. Overactive/bulging platysma Is this normal? Is there anything I can do?! Will chin filler and/or lip filler help pull the area DOWN so my bottom lip doesnt ride up so high?? Will filler help lip pop more so it doesnt fold in over bottom teeth? HELP! I need a solution.
I got botox in my mentalis muscle in chin but I don't like it. It looks bigger now and I already have a long face. I'm not sure how many units she put in my chin but she put 20 in my jawline,DAO, and chin all combined so I'm guessing it wasnt that much. she told me botox around the mouth doesn't last very long only 6 weeks (she said to be honest its a waist of money) but I see other doctors on here saying it lasts the regular amount of time (3-4 months). please help thanks
Because I have slightly protruded teeth, weak lips and a smallish chin, I experience MS when I bring my lips together. My dermatologist suggested just a couple of units of botox for the chin, but I am really worried about the possibility of it affecting adjacent muscles, causing my mouth to droop. My question is: what can go wrong in botox injection into the chin, and why? Is it entirely technique-related, or can it migrate on its own, does it move if you sleep, talk, etc. a certain way? Thanks!
Would visible, post-surgical scar tissue problems be a very prominent concern after surgically altering this muscle to prevent its unsightly contractions? Would Botox be a monthly thing or how far are the appointments usually spread out for hyperactive mentalis applications? I've also heard that over time, Botox weakens muscles; is this true? And would that mean that the need for regular injections would eventually be phased out after a long enough period of treatment? Thank you for your time
