I've been seeing a neurologist for Botox for migraines. He orders 300 units from my pharmacy and injects 150. What happens to the rest? He never lets me use it the next time and whenever I ask questions, no one ever gets back to me. Is this a standard practice? I pay about $240 per every 100 units, and that's after insurance... that's over $700 to the specialty pharmacy. I'd sure not like to be spending more than I have to when it's so costly.
Now that they are advertising botox as a medication for migraines, and insurances are paying for it, are u aware of any stipulations when the insurance covers the botox, as in any areas the doctor cannot inject for the migraine because its considered cosmetic? and i have health alliance plan, does anyone know if they cover the new botox tx for migraines, oh and also one more question, i wouldnt want my family doc to do the botox , are there specially trained drs for the botox for migrain
I asked my doctor if he could inject Botox for my migraines in my problem areas (my bad 11's). He said no BC he's not trained to inject in those areas. The Botox works wonders for my migraines, but I'd also like to get the full benefits of the Botox. He also said I can't go outside Kaiser to get Botox BC my body will eventually start to reject the medication. Can't he put the injections into my 11's so I can have the best of both works? I don't understand what training he needs? Thank you!!
My dr has me on ambien, he says my lack of sleep is the cause for the migrains. I also have severe TMJ, any movement i make i can hear joint crackling and popping. My cheecks swell up often. Its an everyday hell! Is this considered pain management? Some one help....
I have an appointment with my neurologist to be treated with Botox for migraine prevention. I will need injections every 3 months for at least a year. Is there any chance there will be cosmetic benefits as well decrease in migraines? If not, would it be too much Botox to have a different doctor inject me with botox for cosmetic reasons?
Are there any contraindications to having a full-body massage aprior to receiving Botox injections? Would that be too much for the body (healing) or cause adverse reactions to the Botox treatment? The massage would be an hour before receiving the Botox.
