I've been on Accutane for 3 months and my acne completely cleared in the first few weeks and hasn't come back at all. I am struggling with some of the side effects and was wondering if its possible for it to have cleared more quickly and that I could possibly stop taking it early since its worked so well? Are the chances it comes back high? I had minor to moderate cystic acne to begin with.
Im on my third almost 4th month of accutane. I had mild acne for a few years before starting accutane. (Male 170 lbs)I started on 30 mg twice a day, went up to 40 mg twice a day, now am alternating between 80 mg and 90mg. Was seeing little results for a week or two, but now having bad breakouts. Ive been on prednisone twice. I dont know if this is normal... I am beginning to lose hope. Please help
I am a 155 lb male w/ moderate acne that has not responded to topical retinoids (Retin-A & Differin), oral antibiotics (doxycycline & minocycline), Epiduo, and OTC treatments (salicylic acid & benzoyl peroxide) - all used at different times/combinations under MD supervision. Ive now on been on Accutane for 3 months w/ dosage 40mg/day for month 1 and 80 mg for month 2 & 3. Ive seen close to 0 improvement. Ive taken it w a fatty meal every time. Will I ever see improvement?
I have been taking Accutane twice a day for 3 months now (starting on my 4th month). I havent been taking my morning pill with food because I dont eat breakfast. However I always take my second pill right after dinner. I have not seen much results yet. If I start taking my first pill with a tablespoon of peanut butter or something high in fats, how long will it take for me to see results? Have I wasted taking it the last 3 months?
Hello, I have been on Accutane for around 12 weeks now. Accutane was primarily for my chest and back not as much for my face. When I began to get the breakout everyone seems to get while on accutane, my jawline broke out quite badly and has never seemed to heal. My jawline is quite red and has been since around week 3. Also My back and chest have gotten little improvements... The first month was 40mg/day and then then next two months have been 80mg/day. I am 17 years old and weigh about 155 lb
I'm 20, this is the second time I'm taking accutane. I took it first when I was 17 for 6 months 30g dosage. It worked great for a while.. Now I'm taking it again, 40g dosage. And from the start I didn't feel a change I mean my face was clearing up a bit even before the accutane coz I used so many things on it, a cleanser and all that stuff from obagi. And now it's been 3 months my face didn't dry up at all and I'm breaking out like crazy and i think they are leaving scars and I feel like crying.
My skin is extremely sensitive and dry after accutane course. i have taken 20 mg oratane for almost 3 months... my oil glands stopped working. i have got wrinkles on my face. for how long does this dryness last and when my oil glands start producing oil.
Hi there. I have been on accutane for roughly 3 1/2 months, (note that this is my second course) and my nose is still as oily as ever. When I say oily, I mean oily. You can practically see your reflection in it. Yet the rest of my skin is extremely dry, as expected. But I've been getting rather deep break outs the entire time ive been on. I'm getting really depressed about this. I'm on 80 mgs a day, along with a plethora of other meds.
Hi, I am a 27 yo female. I have been on Accutane twice (2017- first round, 40mg 1 month, 60mg 2 months, 80mg 3 months. 2020- 40mg 1st month, 6mg 6 months). Both courses cleared my acne. I just finished the second course in July 2021 and recently I have developed these itchy, comedomal spots on my forehead. I have been using Salicylic acid + retinA since August 2021. What could it be? It started with one spot and in a week it spread. I feel very depressed and my Derm is no good.
