I had been on 30mg a day for 2 months and recently got upped to 40mg a day this month . Yet I have had consistently been having 2-3 breakouts at a time . Is this normal or does this mean that accutane isn't working for me?

The micropen is making tiny wounds in to your skin. these usually heal very quickly but, if you are washing your face with any kind of astringent, it likely will sting. the white spot is a little concerning but may be an area that was more actively treated and may need to be looked at.
There is no easy answer here. some skin will show lines earlier in life than others so this may be a natural evolution for you. it certainly could be made a little worse with the accutane. make sure you use a non-occlusive moisturiser and you may just have to wait until you finish your course to...
