Dr. P is fixated on precision, is confident, reassuring without being patronizing, and surrounds himself with an agile, competent, proactive staff. He performs a closed technique (for rhinoplasty)and the office and surgery rooms are comfortable and convenient. I like that he works with Swedish anesthesiologists. Overall, and most importantly, I felt very trusting of Dr. P, as well as confident in his aesthetic preferences, which is why I choose him for my revision surgery.

Eyelid Surgery
I am a 53yro male and went in to see about having a facelift. Dr P said I really don't need one. He listened to my concerns and said he could do my upper and lower eyes plus cheek implants. He said "that's where you'll get the bang for your buck". Well, I went through the procedure and he was right!! What a difference it made in my appearance. I am very satisfied with the outcome and his entire staff was very supportive. I called a few times during my recovery and they listended to my concerns and addressed them. If I had to leave a message my calls were returned very promptly. If I need any future procedures I will definitely go to Dr P.

I was treated with the utmost respect. My first two visits were fast and they answered my questions honestly and gave me the best options for myself. The day of surgery they pampered me, and were fast. I came home and was recovering before I knew it. They supplied me with everything I would need. I already knew EXACTLY what the process would be since it was already discussed. I don't think I could have asked for more. They exceeded my expectations!

I am so thankful to Dr. Portuese and his staff!! Technically, Dr. Portuese is extremely skilled, and communicates reasonable expectations to his patients before surgery. My results FAR surpassed my expectations. Also, his staff is amazing: Janet met with me for a long time before I scheduled my surgery and was able to describe in detail what the experience would be like, what the discomfort would be like, what the post-op activities and healing experience would be. She was spot-on with everything she told me. Pam did a thorough medical history and review prior to the surgery, and my nurses Noel and (crap, can't remember the other nurse's name - sorry honey, I was a little stoned!) - anyway, they were great and took excellent care of me. And Deb was so patient with me, since I always blink when my picture is taken - she's skilled enough we got a few where I didn't look like a drunken sailor. All of his staff are patient and helpful, even with my nervous-Nellie of a husband who called for every little thing! Anyway, enough raves...I highly recommend Dr. Portuese for facial surgery, and...NO I don't work for him!!!

I underwent Rhinoplasty from Dr. Portuese four months ago and am very pleased with my results. My nose looks natural, but better, and exactly like the projected image done beforehand. His staff was exceptional and I never felt any pressure to have the procedure done, but rather truly felt I was being given information in my consultations. I was a bit on the fence, in some ways, and the lack of pressure from his staff ultimately helped me realize that I did want the procedure.

I've seen Dr. Portuese for rhinoplasty, a chin implant, as well as dermabrasion to address acne scarring on my cheeks. He is highly skilled and creates a safe, comfortable space for you to address your concerns. His office team is top-notch as well - always friendly and accomodating. They space out appointments so I've never felt rushed.

I had a rhinoplasty and chin implant done by Dr. Portuese in September 2011. I am thrilled with the results which look very natural and beautiful. I cannot recommend Dr. Portuese and his friendly staff enough. I never felt rushed, and the Dr. and his staff all treat you like a friend. I travelled down to Seattle from Victoria, BC to have my surgery done - and it was a very wise decision.

As a physician myself, it was important to me to find a plastic surgeon with the experience and expertise to create a natural and aesthetically pleasing new nose, but also with the bedside manner to put me at ease through the process. From the moment of consultation with Dr. Portuese, I felt I had found that surgeon. I was very happy with the consultation and with the process of going through surgery; now, seven months later, I am quite happy with the results. My former self-consciousness and embarrassment with my nose has been replaced with confidence and self-assurance. I can't thank him enough.

My experience with Dr. Portuese and his office was AMAZING! I started my search for a skilled rhinoplasty surgeon 2 years before my surgery. The entire process with Dr. Portuese’s office, start to finish, was effortless and my results are amazing! The office staff is very thorough and accommodating. They will go out of their way to ensure your comfort and explain the process. Dr. Portuese is a highly skilled, straight talking surgeon and the surgery team was equally skilled. I had a difficult time coming out of anesthesia and the entire team was supportive. I remember thinking how lovely they were when they walked me down to the garage as my boyfriend left to pull the car around! As for the surgery itself, it was very quick. I believe the entire process was under 2 hours. I had minimal bruising but freaked out when the tip of my nose had not yet descended. The staff was fabulous in talking me through the recuperation process and assured me my progress was normal. Several people on this site have mentioned their price increase. I had my rhinoplasty just before they raised their prices, which they were very upfront about. I know from my research, that they weren’t the cheapest but they are still significantly less than what other less experienced doctors in the Puget Sound area charge. As I college student, I would have gladly paid the extra money to still have my rhinoplasty done by Dr. Portuese and his staff.

I had columella-plasty. The skin between my nostrils hung down, making my nose look pointy, especially when I smiled. Also, I had a constant runny nose because the epithelium of my nose was exposed. I have wanted to get this surgery done for 15 years and had meet with 4 different plastic surgeons to discuss rhinoplasty. I choose Dr. P based on recommendations and on my inital consult. Everytime I look in the mirror, I know I made the right choice having Dr.P do my surgery. I am so so happy I got it done. Dr.P is the best and the staff at his office are exceptional.

Dr. Portuese is an excellent surgeon. I was apprehensive about proceeding with this surgery but I felt in good hands. He does a lot of rhinoplasties and knows his stuff. Nose surgery is very complex and the possibility of revision is higher, but I am sure that Dr. Portuese has fewer issues because he has a lot of experience and takes his time. This was totally worth it. I didn't expect perfection but what I got was a nose I am no longer self conscious of, it enhances my face rather than being an aberration.

After some extensive searching in Canada, I've decided to cross the border and see Dr. Portuese for my Rhinoplasty. He specializes in the procedure and has a large number of before and after photos on his webpage, which cover a range of noses! I have been thinking about having this procedure done for years because I feel that my nose is very prominent and overshadows my other features. the result is that I feel the need to wear a great deal of dark eye makeup to compensate. When I met Dr. Portuese for a consultation, I felt that he understood my concerns and was thorough in answering my questions about the procedure. I feel that my expectations are realistic, I'm looking for an improvement that will compliment my facial features. I was impressed with the amount of time Dr. Portuese took with my appointment and his assistant, Janet, has been wonderful in answering questions I've had leading up to the procedure. I am excited and a getting nervous since it is so close to the surgery day!

I went to two consultations and decided to go with Dr. Portuese for my rhinoplasty. I made sure I did my research as best as I could, learned the in and out of the rhinoplasty procedure. Compared to this other surgeon who boasted his vast experience in Asian rhinoplasty, Dr. Portuese was far superior. I felt that he could deliver what I wanted and I trusted Dr. Portuese. We spoke in length during the initial consultation talking about what I wanted, what he thought, what he could do what he wouldn’t do.

I know one of his former patients and really liked her results. When I decided to get a facelift and upper/lower eyelid surgery, I interviewed 4 doctors and their clients. Dr. Portuese stood out then, taking time to discuss the process, procedure and results. The results met my expectations and the experience was fantastic. This physician is highly particularly about aethetics, and is literally an artist when it comes to facial surgery. (see his bio.) Be cautious if you are looking for facial cosmetic surgery from a non-specific MD that is preoccupied with "mommy makeovers", "breast enlargements", and "buttocks lifts". Portuese's expertise, pronounced skills, and double board certifications focus on your face. If you are considering Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty, a Face or Neck Lift, don't short yourself by not stopping here first. Staff is first rate, and that's an understatement. Obviously, I have nothing but praise for his practice and surgical processes from consultation through patient satisfaction.

My hairdresser has a book of his work and I came across it; they recommended him. I'm sure hairdressers know more than anyone about plastic surgery results. I consulted with an HMO surgeon but in the end went with Dr Portuese. The entire experience was highly professional, focused on my needs and without any silliness or promotion of other procedures. I liked Dr Portuese, too. He's straightforward, deeply knowledgeable, and I can see why the people I know have recommended him.

After researching surgeons in the Seattle area, I knew I had found the person I wanted to do my surgery after finding Dr. Portuese. He had great reviews and after reading through his website, I learned that he has tons of experience, specifically with rhinoplasty, which is what I was looking for. Dr. Portuese has done thousands of them and is truly an artist. The whole experience, from my very first consultation to follow up appointments after surgery have exceeded my expectations. He has great bedside manner and took time with me to find out what I liked/didn't like about my nose. He then went step by step with what he could fix and how he would fix it. My results look just like the photo simulation! Everyone on his staff is very friendly, knowledgable, and caring. They make you feel very comfortable, especially on surgery day. I am so happy with my results and experience with Dr. Portuese and his team that I would go to him again in a heart beat and would recommend him to anyone looking into facial plastic surgery.

I usually don't give a full 5-star award; but Dr. Portuese and his team really deserve it. Unlike a lot of surgeons, Dr. P. is happy to spend time with you and is very realistic and reassuring. A happy office really shows the culture of they have developed. Nice interiors, too. Doctor William Portuese did a chin lift and small "lift" on one of my eyelids in November of 2012. I loved his staff; and his office is just next to Swedish hospital. While I felt pretty sore for about a week, the results really looked fabulous by the end of week three. His nurse staff is very professional and had like everyone there, a good sense of humor and a very nurturing attitude.

I chose Dr. Portuese mainly based on the reviews I found online and his website that had before and after pictures. I noticed that there were a couple of girls that had a similar shaped nose as mine and I liked their results. I knew from the start that I wanted to have rhinoplasty done and after seeing Dr. Portuese's website with all his wonderful before and after pictures, I was pretty confident he was the doctor I wanted to go with. Upon first meeting Dr. P, has very friendly, liked to make jokes, and was a good listener. He said to me, "Tell me about your nose. What don't you like about it?" After telling him, he went on to let me know all that he was capable of doing to improve the look and shape of my nose. I was amazed at all he was able to do and soon realized that this man was more than just a plastic surgeon, but an artist. He then informed me that if I was looking to improve my profile, that I might want to consider a chin implant as well. I knew I had a recessive chin, but I have to say I had no interest in the idea at the time. He then was able to do some electronic before an after pictures (one with just the rhinoplasty and one with rhinoplasty and the chin implant). Even after seeing the pictures, I still wasn't interested in a chin implant. I didn't like the idea of some foreign object there and I also had come in solely for a rhinoplasty consultation.
